17 Rinseless Washes Reviewed: pictures, charts, smell tests, and pseudo-science

Suds: First half of the test I didn’t take pictures of the suds until after I added dirt, sorry. Dirt Test: Here’s photos from the dirt test. This was initially difficult for me to capture via photo, so most of the photos aren’t great, but I log my findings in a chart. What I'm trying to...

17 Rinseless Washes Reviewed: pictures, charts, smell tests, and pseudo-science

Here’s how I evaluated the products: Smell: Sadly, this is probably the most important factor to me. A product could be the best functioning, but if the smell makes me sick or gives me a headache, I just won't use it. So, I smelled them all, then wrote down the first thing that came to mind...

17 Rinseless Washes Reviewed: pictures, charts, smell tests, and pseudo-science

Here’s my thoughts on 17 rinseless washes. This is less technical, and more focused on my user experience. I'm a hobbyist who only details my own cars. I have very limited time for this hobby, so when I do, I require easy to use, enjoyable products. This is just a small project I did for...

Anyone switch to the ONE-bucket method?

I use the one bucket method when I foam cannon and when I rinseless wash. Gasp. Works for me. I find something I like and works for me and don't worry about some specific youtuber's process. What works for one person may not be for another person.

    Clay products - 2023

The TRC clay scrubber block has me interested. Is it decent for heavyish contamination? Or just not very aggressive?

Which paste wax is easiest to remove???

Another one that doesn't get talked about much, bit is super easy to work with and has a very mild, enjoyable natural scent is the Blackfire Midnight Sun wax. I got it in the Wet Ice over Fire combo before they ruined their logo and changed the name of the sealant from "Wet Diamond" which was...

    Flex XCE 8-125 18?

I've tried just about every pad out there, and it seems like it comes down to personal preference. I use the rupes yellow foam, and have been trying the Spider pads from Sky's the Limit. They are Scholl knock offs basically. Just try a couple different ones to see what you enjoy most

    Pressure Washer Opinions wanted

The quietness is a huge benefit I hadn't thought of too. I have mine mounted in the garage. So usually, at like 6:30 on a beautiful Saturday morning in the summer, I flip the switch, get out the foam cannon, unreal the hose, and shut the garage door. All you hear is the sound of the water...

    Pressure Washer Opinions wanted

I have the Active VE52. Think that's the first gen. Really like it. It's my first electric pw, so coming from a gas unit, it's a step down in volume and pressure. But perfect for car washing!

    Rinseless Washes - 2022

I agree with you. I just couldn't wait to try the ADG Fuzion hybrid wash as a foaming rinselss thing. Geez it was a mess. Totally underestimated the hassle factor.

    Rinseless Washes - 2022

That's exactly right. I'm not saying it's not good, or others don't love it or it's not a great option for someone else. I'm just saying, it was one of my least favorite options, and I really wanted to like it. It sure is a pretty color though!

    Rinseless Washes - 2022

That's spoiler bait! I'm trying to finish my writeup, and I'll follow back up here. I actually tested 17 of them, and only "hate" about 5 of them. The rest are at least decent, but there's 3 that I really prefer. But in general, they are all generally really solid and I just enjoy trying new...

Which paste wax is easiest to remove???

Clearkote Vanilla Moose. Still have a giant bottle, just waiting for an excuse to use it. Souveran, and Fuzion are some of the easiest to remove. Poorboys Nattys are also pretty nice. Less enjoyable is F1000P (which everyone likes). Still waiting to try out a new tub of Supernatural my wife...

    Flex XCE 8-125 18?

Have one, and it has a lot of correction ability. I find myself using the Rupes yellow foam pads the most.

    Rinseless Washes - 2022

Hate the smell, hate the giant bottle and the weird lid. It's an odd one. No "gloss" or "wax", but still uses polymers. Close to being a pure clean option like N914 or Gloss Shop Sublime, but not quite. It's a decent cleaner, but just not enjoyable to use, which to me is pretty important when...

    Rinseless Washes - 2022

It's watery, not much body to it in the bottle. When you mix it up, it just looks like.... water. The smell is like windex + apple (?), but very mild, which salvages it. But! Put your hands into it when mixed up, and use it, it feels very slippery and feels meaningful. Good user experience...

    Rinseless Washes - 2022

I just tried the DIY rinseless as part of my 15 rinseless wash test and writeup I've been working on. Not much to look at or smell, but I was pleasantly suprised.

Using snow foam to wash car

That's an interesting point. I bet the foam sticks better too. Just feels weird to me. Like brushing my teeth without first wetting the toothbrush or putting handsoap onto dry hands. *shivers*

    Autogeek sales?

Don't like the new site. Lot of products are in the wrong category, or can't easily find them or only visible when searching by brand etc. Spend less time there than ever before. Sad.
