What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Tried some of the American Detailer Garage Fuzion Hybrid Wash. Wanted a foaming rinseless/washless product to prespray for some reason. Wife told me "Thats going to be a huge mess!" and she was right. Wouldn't be good for a washless solution, but really good for a rinseless or traditional wash...

    Post Your Unpacking Pictures

aww, I was proud of myself for stepping into the world of coatings :D I guess I was basing a large part of my impression on this quote from Mike Phillips from the review thread: So, here's to hoping its a semi-legit coating

New batch of loot, giving the Flex XFE cordless a try. Hoping it feels a bit more natural to me than the XCE cordless. Also trying my first coating with the Wolfgang Uber Ceramic.

Correction and protection for good white paint on an older truck.

welcome! The Meguiars 105/205 combo didn't get any worse over the years, but some new polishes have come along that are a bit easier to work with. That being said, no reason you can't stick with what you've used in the past. I was a former 105/205 user, and converted to the Griots Boss...

Is my new CR Spotless working? Still really high hardness

Update: It works! @driverman1 was correct, I did not have the cartridges seated properly, because I didn't initially use the wire rings. Now reads "0" as expected. Probably burned $20 of resin trying to take this picture :D

Is my new CR Spotless working? Still really high hardness

I did get it new. I did check the left to right orientation, had that correct. Think enough water has flowed thru to push the air out- probably ran the thing for 10 minutes thus far. Thanks! I do have the orientation right. It seems like the resin was new, but they were just sitting in the...

Is my new CR Spotless working? Still really high hardness

Hi all, I just received a new CR Spotless DI-20 system. The hardness of my city water supply is about 280 PPM TDS. I hooked up the CR Spotless, and the reading on the machine shows about 102-130. I was expecting it to read 0, being brand new. Are my expectations out of line? I know my PPM is...

    Ozone Generator Experts

This is some really good information. I can think of several places I'd like to try this. Can you tell me how you use it? Mix as liquid and spray in surface? Use in a fogger(?) somehow? Edit- Looks like you mix up the liquid solution, then can also use a fish bubbler the increase the...

    ONR vs N-914

I love me a good attempt at a test, but ill just lob this grenade over the fence: I wish ONR still had the old scent. The old smell was "fruity old man house" and the new one is "old grape juice".

Need Some Advice on Partners and Their Jewelry and Stuff

I call flaws/marks/scratches/dents etc that my family installs on my items "love marks". They help me remember the installer, and gives my item unique character than no-one else's has. Like, "My 2 year old daughter just put a scratch in my fine Galen Leather folio- oh well, every time I see...

OT - Anyone sharpen their own knives? Looking for advice.

Just one of the generic ~$40 bluetooth magnifiers from Amazon. It was actually very helpful, early on, to see what exactly is going on during the sharpening process. In addition to the sharpie method, helps you dial in your angle, incase you are just grinding on the shoulder, and not actually...

OT - Anyone sharpen their own knives? Looking for advice.

Here's a follow up to my above post. I still use the sharpie method to dial in the angle and mounting. Having a capable sharpening system has made me much more willing to use my nice knives to their potential. Don't have to worry about keeping that factory edge, because the edge you can end up...

    Poorboys strip down wax stripper

Wow, I wasn't aware of that. I like to switch LSPs often, and mainly only do rinseless washes, so this might be the perfect product for me. What's it smell like?

OT - Anyone sharpen their own knives? Looking for advice.

I bought a TSPROF K03. It is the tier 1 guided sharpener system. Better than Wicked Edge, Hapstone, Edge Pro, Lansky, Worksharp etc. It uses a sort of universal stone size, so you can find almost any stone you can think of. Even Naniwa Chosera, Shapton Glass, and other of the best Japanese...

    Silver vs White

This is a pretty good stance to take on the issue. Now granted, my first car was white, and I loved getting that thing glossy. Shiny white paint looks great. 15 years later, I have a silver minivan. That thing is so gigantic, its just hard to get motivated to do anything significant to it...
