    Which brand

Welcome. Coming here to save money. Ha, that is a good one. As others have mentioned, you will get lots of different opinions, reviews and recommendations. I am just like you, always looking for better products to make my detailing/maintenance work just a little bit better. The...

What is Iron X and why should I use it?

Mike, thanks for answering my question in so much detail, I really appreciate it. I have only used Iron X once before but after the initial wash, now I have learned something and next time it will be on a dirty car.

    Pads

If you don't clean your pads, the crap from the previous section might re-introduce those scratches you are trying so hard to get rid of.

Am I a "Detailer" Can I refer to myself as a "Detailer"

I agree 100% with streetglide12. Ok, maybe not 100% since I am not a stone mason. I work at a desk (IT/DevOps manager), but used to get my hands dirty full time as an automobile tech as well as robotics repair. One of my passions is maintaining our "motorpool", not only from the mechanical...

What is Iron X and why should I use it?

Mike, just to clarify, are you spraying Iron X onto a dry surface or something that might already be wet, especially if you are doing this after cleaning the wheels. Just want to make sure I understand correctly. Thanks.

    Wasting Time Taping?

That quote can be used for so many things. Just like the mechanic saying if the engineer had to fix this, he would have designed it much more user friendly.

    Coffee stain defeated my steamer

Have him buy a new seat cover from the dealer, might be cheaper than you having to spend hours and hours trying to get the stain out and not succeed. Some things are just not worth it, especially cleaning up after pigs.

The Most Expensive Wax You Have Bought?

I bought a new Audi that was freshly waxed. So in that case, I bought wax with a car attached. Does that count? :D

    Hawaii

I really like Lanai. It is probably too sleepy for most people, but it is soooooo relaxing. We try to go to HI at least every year, but due to other life circumstances we took a break this year. Also really liked the big island and of course Maui. Oahu is just too crowded. Never been to Kauai...

    DP Tornador Cleaning Gun Ordered

Just like with a steamer, you use a MF towel to absorb some of the liquid and dirt. I used my Tornador Black for the first time today and it took a couple of minutes to figure the whole thing out.

    Griots or Flex Input

I had the GG 6" one and got rid of it and now have a Flex and a couple of Rupes (15 & 75). The GG stopped working on speeds 1 and 2 so I warrantied it and sold the brand new replacement to fund my new DA. I also have the GG 3" that I use strictly with a super soft interior brush for leather...

    Working at a dealership

Ain't that the truth. I worked as a technician at several dealers for about 5 years and some of the cars I had to drive in from the lot to my lift or even worse go on a test drive, would make your stomach turn inside out. Combine that with mouse infested blower motors it is enough to make you...

Did I get the right pads?

I had asked this question to Nick when buying the pads and he told me I needed a 4" BP for the 5" Hybrid pads.

    Blowing dry?

+1 on the master blaster, the only thing I would add is one or two extension hoses and the wall mount kit, that way you can mount the sucker on the wall and don't have to drag it around the car with you. The 10' hose is way too short.

Congrats and good luck with the move. I have some friends that are in IT for Sprint in KC. They also talk about the uncertainty, especially with the new CEO.
