What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Congrats Eldo!!! And sweet detail DLC!!! Did my Uncle’s 00 SLK320 yesterday. A very well maintained car and a pleasure to work on. He has helped my family a lot so I put a lot of love and time in it for him. A little over 6hrs spent and included a light polishing and some snow shovel scratch...

Product listings in the store are confusing

Polishers are almost always excluded from the discount sales. I believe AG will price match competitors prices.

The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

Ha, I wonder if it had anything to do with the “I ****** my cat and liked it” thread title hack. I would still see that every once in a while.

Help: Can't take advantage of durable waxes/sealants due to dirty paint

Maybe you just need a better cleaning wash if it is easily removed by a cleaner wax. Have you tried a stronger wash or a light mix of APC with your two bucket wash? It may be road film that your current wash and waterless wash can’t remove. Megs D114 was the only waterless wash I’ve used...

Sticky/Tacky Steering Wheel, Arm Rest and Door Cards

If possible, put up some pics. Tapatalk app is the easiest way I know of. Without seeing them, I’d say you could try a light cleaner on them like Griots Interior Cleaner if you don’t have anything. Or you could just try a little soap and warm water soaked rag on them and see what happens. If...

Ultima Interior Guard Plus new formula....as good as the old?

I really wish the would date stamp these “new and improved” statements. I’m not sure if I have the newer version but I like the product. I also now have McKee's 37 Leather Guard UV50 which is suspiciously similar. Same smell, but not quite as strong, although UIGP it not that strong smelling...

    Post Your Unpacking Pictures

Nice score Flysti! They had a great price on the gallon of their wheel cleaner. I had it and a bunch of other stuff in my cart, but I balked.

How do you handle NOT being able to wash the car? (bad weather, etc)

My favorite time to use a traditional wash soap is when it’s sprinkling out. I can go slow and be as thorough as I want. If you’re the type that doesn’t want to wash it because it’s going to rain then you’ll never wash it.

    Wet Sanding aluminum alloy wheels?

I guess they could be like my old Grand Cherokee wheels. I think they had sort of a machined finish on the barrels with a little clear. Eventually they get so eaten up from from the brake dust sitting on them that it destroys any finish that was there. When they do finally get cleaned up, your...

Kwazar broke unlisted but important part

I’m not sure if the product had anything to do with it or not, but yes it is probably the wrong product type for the sprayer. I kinda think there all made from the same plastic and only the seals are different. I could be wrong though. I wonder if they all have metal springs. I’ll have to...

    Favorite drying aid

Optimum Opti-Seal works great as a drying aid. Besides the protection, it adds slickness and makes the vehicle easier to dry, what else can I say. I don’t deal coatings.

    Wet Sanding aluminum alloy wheels?

I don’t know, I think I’d continue to try cleaning chemically. Usually factory wheels barrels are painted/coated also, but usually not very well. If you have one of the color changing wheel cleaners like Griots HD I would try that first. Most of them seem pretty good at getting the stains out...

Kwazar broke unlisted but important part

I wasn’t sure who to contact. I emailed the Poland service department Sunday night, then forwarded my email to the UK office this morning. The Poland office replied after that and forwarded my info to the US rep. My email was just inquiring who to contact to purchase this part. Poland...

Using a da scrub brush and vacuum

You need to find to different plugs that are on separate circuits (that run to two different breakers). I’m not sure how new houses are wired but usually different rooms, different parts of the house, will be on separate circuits. Hopefully your breaker box is labeled and pick two that will...

Looking for a good trim product

Of the ones listed so far I prefer to use McKees Trim Restorer. It’s easy to use, darkens, and beads water. Wolfgang is similar with a little less of a darkening effect. Ultima is a little odd to use but is good. Solution Finish darkens the most, but is also a little odd to use.
