    Howdy from Oreegun

Hey there, Beaverton, OR here...I liked your other thread, good work, man! I'm wondering how you're going to deal with the Oregon "winters" and detailing....

Foam gun vs foam cannon - weekend warrior stuff

Thanks... I wonder how the pro detailers do it then using a power washer and lance....do they wash the car with the power washer and then start the polish/wax procedure?

Soap drying on black paint issue!

Salt that is left over from the softener? My brother would leave a glass with a slight amount of water in it and after it evaporated, it left behind a film...his installer indicated that there's a slight amount of salt that makes it into the water and that's what he was seeing....the water...

Foam gun vs foam cannon - weekend warrior stuff

Yeah, I find it takes me a long time to clean my SRT8 wheels for Griot's HD Wheel Cleaner and two Daytona brushes. I'd love to spray that stuff on all the way around, then foam it up, and then rinse.

Foam gun vs foam cannon - weekend warrior stuff

I keep reading reviews of these foam guns and it's wild the varying opinions. Though, my eyes tell me that there's a huge difference between a foam gun that sprays soapy water and a foam cannon that sprays heavy suds. I just don't know how to assess what is "better". Pressure washing gets the...

Foam gun vs foam cannon - weekend warrior stuff

I've read many threads here at AG re: both guns and cannons, but can't yet figure out the better item for my situation - I'm a backyard detailer with an 05 Pacifica and an 06 300c SRT8. I wash both...a lot using the 2 bucket approach, but it takes me a long time and wifey doesn't like that. If...

Car wash soaps will not make suds

I use 5-gallon buckets for my hand washes. I've noticed that sometimes with both Megs Gold Class and Megs Ultimate Wash & Wax that I get very little suds. Plenty of suds in the bucket, but not on the mitt when it hits the car. I don't measure my soap carefully, but I do notice that when I use...

    Do QD’s degrade sealants?

I've been wondering about this same issue. Waxed using Megs liquid UW, topped with Megs UFF and each week following a wash, I do a wipe with Megs Ultimate Quick Wax. I've noticed that the beading longevity of the UFF is not what I expected (though I now realize that I may have removed the UFF...

    Optimum Power Clean on tires

I've used OPC on my tires, wheels, wheel well liners, and plastic trim with very good results. I've since switched to Megs APC but this was a cost issue. I've diluted at 4 to 1 and 10 to 1 finding that 4 to 1 takes care of everything on the exterior and 10 to 1 works well inside.

    UFF vs the other WOWAs?

Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe I have unrealistic expectations for the UFF. I notice that on both car, driving in the results is spots and streaking...very dirty, but maybe that's gonna be the result no matter what product I use. Back to Megs Gold Class car wash now...

Why I'm not and never been a fan of waffle weave drying towels

It took me 3 to dry my 300C SRT8...I wonder if I'm doing it wrong? I even blew it dry with my shop-vac first.

    UFF vs the other WOWAs?

UFF is also my 1st wowa and I'm not sure what I think about it. It doesn't seem to last as long as I thought it would or maybe I am not understanding what it should do. It's very easy to apply and wipe off. Immediately afterwards water just slides off. After a week it beads up really well...

Why I'm not and never been a fan of waffle weave drying towels

I must have very hard paint on my 06 Chrysler 300C SRT8. For the last 2 years all I have used are cotton towels without inducing swirls or scratches. I did just order 4 GG PFM 16x16 towels and really liked them. For my first use I blew the car dry in sections, i.e., blew off the roof, hood...

Griots garage PFM Terry Weave Towel Mini-Review

Wasn't sure, either...I would have placed the order with AG but their pricematch requires placing that order and linking to the competitor and I dont have faith that AG would match...plus shipping was cheaper, too.
