I understand what you're saying big Z, but I was cleaning the pad between panals with a brush and MF towel, still warm and moist - kinda like....never mind!

Big Kid Toys - Flex Polisher

OK, got a PC and Makita - bought right here BTW, and I was thinking about the Cyclo - but after consulting with others - I started looking hard at the Flex. I did get some rotary time in Sat under the professional guidence of my friend that owns a bodyshop. I tried 3M ultrafina for the firest...

has anyone tried the flex xc3401vrg yet.

OK, I reallllllllllly hate that Saturn. I used HiTemp extreme cut mixed with Malco's Perfex on a yellow wool pad at 1800 rpm - still had some scratches, I gave up before I had a seizure and used some Malco Nano polish with a yellow pad on the PC to get out the compounding haze. Now, I know ya'll...

    Collinite/Souveran Question

I've found that Collinite doesn't need or play well with other toppers. I'm thinking of going back to Aquawax after it has a few washes on it, it really is the thickest wax I've ever seen on paint, looks great though just not as slick as some.

Hey, Zoran - had to break out the wool pads and rotary on a black Ur-anus, sorry Saturn. I worked 3 hours on just the hood and top, the rest is plastic and in a little better shape. It seriously needs a paint job, but the customer ( my friend that sells abused, er - used cars) said to just...

Wolfpacker92 - hey bro, I was at State in the hey day of Jimmy V! Question, did you go through Powerhouse to get the Flex or the detailer web site?

I tried Presta 1500 with a rotary and foam pad, turned into a gummy mess. I switched to Optimum OHC and it was fine - not buffer hopping and no gummy mess. FWIW - I've since gone to HiTemp for compounds/polishes, as they are more "bubba" proof with me!

You made my day! That Flex is on the ol Bug's Christmas list, I think the wife is just giving me the nod to order it and will pay for it when it comes in.

I would be very pleasantly surprised if AG got the Flex - but it would be a win-win for them, for Flex and for us. Now, If I could just find the $$ to get one!

In Zoran's defense - I will state that he got banned unfairly IMHO and is really missed by many over there. I really appreciate AG for letting this thread go - afterall, it's a discussion on what could be the best defect removal tool for most of us. Heck, I have a rotary but I rairly use it...

The threads for the Flex - backing plate screws into - are they some metric type or something compatible with either the pc or rotary? I think the answer is no but I wanted to ask.

Thanks Z man! You just saved me from a $380.00 bill - (price of Cyclo and pads). I used my good ol PC yesterday, I realized that for applying wax or sealers there is nothing better. Also, tried a new (to me) AIO from HiTemp, used the PC and a LC orange pad, worked faster than a quart of ex-lax...

Hey Doctor Z, I know you're the Cyclo master too - so, which one is your favorite? I'm still looking at both, right now the advantages look to be in the Flex, I don't have to buy a hundred bucks worth of Cyclo pads, I can use my vast collection of LC 6.5" ones. Also, it appears that the Flex...

    waxing and glazing..

I have only used two glazes, XMT and Danase Wet Glaze (which Bob freely admits is ##) - I wasn't all that impressed with XMT, kinda thin and didn't do much. The Danase Wet Glaze, I tried two ways, first after polishing and before topping - kinda disappeared and I couldn't see the shine the glaze...

    which sealant should I use?

I've tested WG and 105 - 105 beat WG in durability and looks are subjective - but I couldn't see the difference, 105 is a much better buy too.

What do you think the best AIO is?

I've had real good luck with Hi Temps AIO, it's several notches above Poliseal in correction and shine.

Product Review: Wolfgang Lens Cleaning System

Ya'll must not have tried to clean the cloudy lens I usually get. My technique is wet sand with 1000 grit - then compound with a foam wool pad (I use Malco brand compound - Perfex) - polish with white foam pad and whatever you fav polish is and then spray Plexus on it and wipe off with a MF...
