    Home-made Laundry Detergent for Microfibers?

Re: How to make your own oxyclean Following that link I went on further to find that the majority of oxygen enhanced cleaners use sodium percarbonate, which when mixed with hot water will release oxygen and basically breakdown into hydrogen peroxide and soda ash, which becomes oxygen, water...

    Water softener

For under $200, and only twice a month, you might just want to work a section at a time and use a waterless wash and or quick detail as you dry each section. You can get a CR Spotless for about $300 and it will eliminate water spots where as a water softener may cause its own water spots.

AIO Cleaner Wax/Sealant for Metallica Silver Subaru

Why do you keep asking for a spray wax with fillers? Any fillers aren't going to work as well over a AIO, and you may cloud the finish and block the metallics. Fillers should be applied before LSPs, but on a new finish I don't think you'll notice much benefit on a new finish. Maybe you should...

    oxidized-uncoated aluminum wheels

The Flitz aluminum cleaner works very well at removing a lot of oxidation and brightening the aluminum. Do you have any felt buffing wheels and or something similar to the Flitz buff balls?

    oxidized-uncoated aluminum wheels

I use Flitz polish and the Flitz buff balls. You are going to have marring using wool once you get past the heavy oxidation. Why don't you stick with an aluminum specific compound/polish, and maybe use m205 for the final polish?

    Best once a year wax?

Something like Klasse twins acrylic sealant will last the better part of a year if maintained properly. Anything longer than that you are stepping into the hybrid sealant/coating territory. That said, all LSPs should be monitored to ensure they are holding up and or haven't been damaged. Even...

    First Timer

Welcome to AGO Scott. One of the first things I would do is clay the paint to remove bonded contaminates, and wipe it down with white vinegar to remove mineral deposits/water spots. Then the paint will be completely smooth, and a lot clearer, and ready to polish and seal. If you are...

New car protection, clear bra? coating?

What kind of warranty are either of the installers offering for their work? Also, the prep done before hand needs to be done by a detailer. Decontamination and polish work is usually neglected by the owner and installer. I have a client that had PPF installed on his white GT500 and there were...

    Just how....

Is it really gonna be worth a before and after shoot? That just means more people bringing you cars like this and not wanting to pay what it's worth. If the owner is willing to pay to make It worth your time and abuse on you and your equipment, then go for it. If you do go through with the job...

Looking for a new Wheel / Tire cleaner to try out.

Sonax Full Effect is great fr wheels and wells and Muc-Off wheel wash is one of my favorite all wheel type tire and wheel cleaners. Both have a long, safe dwell time for heavy cleaning. LA's Totally Awesome is another cheap option that can be diluted for most finishes but should be used with...

    Hardened gorilla glue

I was assuming the manufacturer would recommend acetone, and am surprised it didn't work. Maybe it would have worked had the glue not fully cured. But, a great lesson for everyone. Sometimes it is best to just pass and say, so sorry.

Auto Detailing Day at Tuscarora Dave's (South Central PA)

Will keep in touch go let you know if I can make it up there. Talked to my brother today and he is down for going. Just gotta figure out accommodations if my family isn't able to accommodate.

Auto Detailing Day at Tuscarora Dave's (South Central PA)

I might be able to make it up, and bring my brother. We have family about an hour from Etters, so it would be a great trip. Would be cool to get my brother some training since he may be moving in with me and helping me part-time. Will let you know for certain when he gets here in the beginning...

Flex 3401 randomly powers off ??

If still under warranty you can send it to be fixed. I had these symptoms and it ended up being a circuit in the trigger(about a $26 piece). It's that or the speed dial/control, which is a $70-$80 piece. The chance of it being the brushes because they are worn after 8 months is highly unlikely...

    Vacuums....hoses and such

It shouldn't be an issue to asknif the customer has power and water available. Most people don't expect detailers to come with a generator and water supply. Just bring your own cord and hose and don't waste their power/water and they probably wont even expect a discount. The convenience and...

    Thin paint.... time to quit?

I would get in touch with a Mazda Rep and let him know the history of your paint with the dealership and find out what the minimum/recommended thickness for your paint. Then find out if they will warranty your paint against failure with its current thickness(thinness). The dealership is...

HHR Panel for Mobile Detailing unit?

The pump I have actually has a 3/4 npt fitting going into the pump, which may be a 1" female opening for a standard sump pump hose; Idk if there is such a hose.

HHR Panel for Mobile Detailing unit?

The pump fittings are most likely 3/4 or 5/8 NPT(pipe thread not garden hose). I actually figured this all out when I went into a landscaping/lawn care store to get an inline filter. If you bring a pump into a place like I went to they can adapt pretty much anything. Also, pump I have is a...

    washing cars at a dealership

I mostly learned while I was employed, using my own vehicle and test pieces/panels to learn more difficult skills like sanding and how to properly use a rotary buffer. I am just saying that if he has a job that pays better than what a dealership will offer then don't give it up yet. He can...
