Ultimate compound to Wax (2 stage)?

I've been using carpro fixer lately as a one step and change up pads based on the harshness needed. I don't use any smat products so I'm just wondering if maybe you should be looking into that aspect. I'm not sure if dat or smat is gonna offer you more versatility in this quest, but it might be...

Why not try to find shampoo bottles for air travel. It's smaller that 8oz (3.4 or 100ml iirc)?

Help Me Put Together A Porter Cable Kit! Before Sale Runs Out

You'll need to add a smaller backing plate as well. If backing plate hands out or is right on the edge and you make a mistake where the plate touches the paint you will hate yourself. Smaller backing plate allows a margin for error. The wolfgang should dust less, and have a longer work time...

Help Me Put Together A Porter Cable Kit! Before Sale Runs Out

One pad will not do a car. For someone new and a big-ish car (it's not a miata) I think 2 is a minimum and would really recommend 3. You will add too much polish to the pad until you figure it out, this is going to remove a lot of cutting ability. Also, if you drop one it's done. You can wash...

Help Me Put Together A Porter Cable Kit! Before Sale Runs Out

Griots has more power, and I find it worked very well with a 6.5 inch pad. I prefer 5.5 inch pads after using both, but it was still very easy to use. The best thing about Griots is the lifetime warranty. Griot’s Garage Random Orbital Wolfgang Duo I've been recommending this to new people...

    Who's Working on Thanksgiving?

I work today. So glad my retail job doesn't do black Friday deals. We are also eating at work today and one of the boys can really work up some good ribs! I won't complain about being there, that's for sure.

750HP NSX Full Correction: Long Write up many pics

One of my top 2 "must own someday" cars. Other is a Supra. Car came out great!! It's perfectly tasteful from the cf to the advans. Big shout out to you for doing your research and not claiming this car as single stage paint. Honda is weird about their red colors and do a "tri-coat" on many of...

    What to get?

Fg400 and the kit with 106 and 83 are on my list (cheaper + free mf towels) and maybe power or color lock. I do not remember what specific numbers these go to, I believe 2500 and 4000 is what i decided would be a pretty good combo if the car wasn't very bad.(hinch the 400)

Can you clay after a sealant has been applied?

Sealant bonds to the paint. Clay removes unsmooth contaminants from the paint. What this leads to is: some say that a light use of clay after sealant has cured (12-24 hours usually) that it will remain on the car. I feel like it probably makes it weaker, but the only way to know for sure is to...

New Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner

From what I understand the LGM didn't really get the water very hot, and reports seem to speculate that portion is one of the first to go on the LGM. My tap water here is crazy hot so I don't think I'd have to worry about a heater.

Griot's 6" DA: info on wrench for backing plate?

If your town has a nice bicycle shop give them a try. Some very thin wrenches from Park Tools for getting at the wheel between the hub and the frame. Not sure if they go that small (15mm IIRC).

    Orbital Buffer Swirls Help!!

Griot’s Garage Random Orbital Wolfgang Duo If I was just getting a starter kit I would get this, and a 6 pack of lake country ccs pads (2 orange, 2 white, 2 black) I use black for anything except "polishing." I use them for sealant and wax pretty often. I have blue and reds and just tend to...

    Orbital Buffer Swirls Help!!

Do 5.5 inch pads on the meguairs polisher, but I strongly recommend the griots just for the power and warranty. 3 orange for 105 2 white for 205 Black for your wax of choice. They are washable and reusable.

    Orbital Buffer Swirls Help!!

They are megiuars product numbers. Some companies do numbers and others have product names. Like swirl remover and then finishing polish. They are usually a minimum of 2. You'll do your defect removal with the swirl compound (105 for instance) and then refine the paint to a high gloss with a...

    Orbital Buffer Swirls Help!!

Can't really hurt much by hand so give it a shot. If I'm not mistaken the meguiars polisher is the weakest of the "3". I have a pc7424 and still recommend the griots garage. Life time warranty, bigger pads, and more power while still being very user friendly and safe for a novice. Autogeek has...
