    New Buffer Question

I'd do both by the machine to be honest with you.

    Review & How-To: Meguiar's Car Wash Plus

I'd use ironX before (but after rinsing the car off well) using this.

    Waxing and Polishing Towels?

I'll let you in on a secret (well... not really a secret). I'm going to follow the rules AS THEY'RE OUTLINED since I used to get in trouble for this crap. I will not tell you where I buy them since we can't link to other sites, but it's all over this website if you look around. On to the secret...

    HD Speed Topping Question

It's pointless to top an AIO in my opinion, because I can find plenty of polishes that correct as well and clean out from my pads better than AIO. Then I'll just follow up with an LSP that is more durable. So.... Why would I do the same amount of work and time with an AIO and follow that up when...

    Whats your favorite swirl remover?

I truly don't think there's a single swirl remover that can be used by hand without hating yourself within 2 hours. The work I can do in two hours by hand is about most of a hood (and I'm not doing it well at that pace either). I could honestly nearly polish a whole car if I had my DA. I've...

Effective Home brew prep wipe Mckees n-914 & 99%

That would be very counter-intuitive considering how poorly Dawn actually rinses from the paint and isn't actually strong enough to remove any of the protection that you would want a deep cleaner for. If you're aiming to just remove what is left on the paint after polishing, then IPA is an...

Cleaning Chocolate Milk from Perforated Leather Seats

Yeah the fact that its milk and in the cushion makes this a potentially more annoying problem than just a stain. Everything this guy said is what I would have done. Regarding the stain though, you could also try something like the leatherique system. I know it's not made for treating stains...

    HD Protect discontinued?

I know I've been out of the detailing game for a while, but I really hope my favorite interior protectant wasn't discontinued. I can't seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone have news on this? EDIT: After looking on their website I still don't find it but it looks like they may have re-bottled...

    Paint thickness gauges $10-$15

The new Ford trucks are aluminum. So it doesn't work on anything but steel panels then?

    Paint thickness gauges $10-$15

There's a big difference between reliability and accuracy. This is, apparently, very reliable but until compared with something that is accurate we can't know how well it actually performs. To answer your question Mgavin, I don't polish paint if it is 20% thinner than the door jamb paint...

I'm Back! From Detailer to (Future) Doctor

Wow, thank you everyone! I really appreciate it all. I'll definitely try and stay more active through the next few years. It'll be interesting trying to keep my car as clean as I want living downtown in Kansas City. Luckily I'll have garaged parking. I'm currently trying to figure out a way...

    Superglue on paint

If you have the container of the super glue it often says what can be used to dissolve it. If water is the number 1 solvent in the world, I would probably consider acetone to be number 2. That stuff is fantastic for organic compounds and super glue is exactly that.

I'm Back! From Detailer to (Future) Doctor

Hi Everyone, I don't really expect this to start much of a discussion on anything, but I really felt like sharing it. I used to be super active on this forum, but stopped starting around 2017-ish when I changed my major from accounting and finance into exercise science with a pre-medical...

    Lets talk about Iron Removers

I would never do this. I can't imagine that the "clay" is going to hold up as well over time. Thioglycolate is a pretty strong acid (first pKa = 3.8). Although the solution should be relatively neutral in formulation, I'm always hesitant outside of a lab to use varying compounds on subtances I...

    Lets talk about Iron Removers

If the thioglycolate anion is that compound doing the work, then yes. Since iron is cationic, then it probably is.

Meguiars D156 Or Adam's Detail Spray?

Aquawax! But between the two, I'd choose D156. It's even got uses on the interior. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Autogeekonline mobile app

First Experience With DuraGloss ... WOW!

It's 1:4. I think 111 is more glossy/hard candy rather than wet. 105 is the deeper/wax look. I don't notice any difference using the products together vs. separately. In regards to 105 vs 501, I think 105 lasts a bit longer and looks a bit better but doesn't clean as well. 105 still cleans...

Can't Find A Decent Spray Bottle Trigger

No, just their tools. Whether they be polishers, pads, brushes or even their microfiber. Their liquids are definitely theirs. From a business perspective it makes sense for them to sell the brushes pads and what not too, because people who don't know better will buy from them. They have a huge...

Whats the best waterless wash to use in direct sunlight?

If the panels are already hot, then rinseless allows the panel to cool down and stay wet longer. But if you must do a waterless wash, I feel like 114 worked the best.

Can't Find A Decent Spray Bottle Trigger

Those aren't Chemical Guys, those are Tolco sprayers. Chemical Guys doesn't make any products of there own. They just rebrand other products. I've seen one of their "pad" brushes on Amazon and it was actually just a tire/carpet brush identical to the brush Tuff Shine rebrands as their own...
