    So this followed me home....

I'm sure the overhead will be magnitudes cheaper. When I bought the BRZ I actually considered a used Cayman. Ultimately, the decision was essentially a 15+ year old Porsche and the "Porsche Tax" for maintenance, or a brand-new car with substantially less running costs. The great part too is...

Great news, congrats! I'll quietly envy your Brembo's from afar.

There is no downside to getting the tS if it fits in the budget. If you can get your BRZ fairly quickly you'll really appreciate the A/C. Mine has the best A/C I've encountered in recent car ownership. Not only does it move a large volume of air, but it gets really cold really fast. Cold...

Question for our Australians re America perception

That or anger. Life is too short to be angry all the time.

What color are you getting? Limited? Back when I bought mine in '22, ordering was pretty simple as long there was production capacity available at the factory. Toyota won't let you do that with the GR86. It's all based on dealer allocations and what they've already ordered. With my BRZ I...

    From "stay tuned" to T U N E D !!

The note about 93 octane for their 1.5 tune is interesting. You go west and south of our state and 93 becomes harder to find. 91 becomes the standard. The only time it isn't an issue is in higher altitude areas like New Mexico and Colorado where 91 performs like 93. I remember when looking at...

Nice, it really sounds like they know what they are doing. It's good to see they have done what Hyundai can't seem to do and develop engine management software that adjusts to octane levels and other conditions dynamically. What is the issue with injectors or fuel pumps? I noticed a couple...

Any time! If you have any other questions or thoughts about the car, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm not buying the story about the car being a car show demo. Either they go really overboard or something terrible happened to the car. My car too was a demo model: for the St. Louis Auto Show...

    So this followed me home....

That is a strange history. This is for a new car, right? I assume so with the mileage. You made a good choice in walking away. Since they don't have a sunroof, it almost sounds like it got soaked due to the windows being down in a really bad storm. Or a critter got in the car and tore...

Velosters too maybe. They had two generations of those and then the turbo version right before the N one came out. Maybe they tuned up Tiburon's and Scoupe's before that?

First thing to do to a "New" used car ???

No telling what the stuff was, but likely some type of sealant. If you're happy with it now, I'd just leave it alone and maybe hit it with a topper of choice after every wash or two until the product dies. Then you can go nuts and do whatever you want.

I hope this isn't too late. I was traveling for work all last week and didn't have much time to get on. Yes, I still have the car and I daily drive it every day all year. I think I've got around 24K miles on it now. TLDR: We've declared this car as a "keeper". It's truly special and will...

Was this the first guy with the tune you've been having issues with? If you're sending it to his home in an apartment complex, it sound rather suspect. I'm glad you've cut ties and are moving on. Let's hope this one works out for you and you get a tune that will work reliably.

    Clay polishing pads

Have you thought about using a traditional clay bar? I always keep one in my garage because it's much more effective than my clay mitt. It will mar more than a clay mitt/towel, but you seem prepared for that. I can usually clay a car pretty rapidly regardless of what I've used, so a pad on...

First thing to do to a "New" used car ???

This is essentially what I do to. Also, Many times I'll purchase the car in times when the weather isn't ideal for doing a full exterior detail, so I'll at least hit it with a sealant I have on hand, or buy some inexpensive, small quantity of a reputable sealant to hold me over until I do more...

Spray Wax/QD Abuse Is Real—But It Doesn’t Have to Be This Way.

Personally, I don't get the fascination with slickness. I look for clarity of the clearcoat and gloss. Swiping the paint surface to feel the slickness of the surface only adds fingerprints! Often some of the coatings with the highest water contact angles and best water behavior are not the...

    Matte Black Wheel Cleaning

What are you agitating the barrels with; something like a Speedmaster brush that gets between the spikes and deep into the barrel? What type of car is this? When I wash my wheels I have to use two brushes. A long, thinner brush like the Speedmaster to get between the spokes and wash the...
