Need Polish Compound and Pad Recommendations for Honda Paint

On my daughter's Honda Fit I found Optimum Hyper Polish or Sonax 04/06 worked really well. Both are great on soft paint. As for pads, I'd use Lake Country white (medium) Flat or ThinPro pads, which should work really nicely on your PC polisher.

Need coating suggestion to amplify white paint

I think Mohs EVO looks pretty good on our white pearl MDX. I found CQuartz UK 3.0 looked really good on a BMW in Apline White. As with any color, giving the surface a good polish and making sure its as defect free as possible goes a long way to making it look good.

2025 May FuelFed Winnetka C&C...lots of pics!

Not really. My peculiar acceptance of white is tied to the Mustang GT350 and it's white/blue scheme specifically. It was raced in that livery since the first model, so there is historical and traditional precedent for Mustang GT350's in my eyes that works. Other Mustangs, or even other Fords...

2025 May FuelFed Winnetka C&C...lots of pics!

When we first moved to the UK back in 2000, I was in need of a second car for our family. There was one of those in black sitting on a lot near my work location. I looked at it for days. The price was a little above what I wanted to pay, and I wasn't sure I wanted to take on the maintenance...

BMW Alpine White is pretty crisp, but I still find it a letdown; even on that classic 5-series in your picture. If I was to go with a light, neutral color, it's silver all day, any day. A good silver will still show character lines and won't erase them like white can. An example is BMW's...

    BBS Wheel Wheel Cleaner

Even if the wheels are pretty bad, you may be surprised by how well your normal wheel cleaner will perform. Here is an example of Griots regular green wheel cleaner (not the heavy duty stuff) on some filthy race wheels I bought a few years ago. Wheel cleaner review

White also seems to erase all character or design lines from the shape of a car too. There used to be a white 718 Cayman I'd see at work and it just looked like a boring jelly bean. All sense of the design was lost. On the other side though, I've talked to a multiple people who like white...

Wooden chasis? Just like a Morgan! It is a beautiful car with lines similar to a Jag E-Type.

I have this strange attraction to those old Alfa coupes. Love that car. I like the McLaren too, but white does not do that car any favors. There is a black 570 I see in my area occasionally and grabs my attention every time. Should I ever magically come into a gazillion dollars, there would...

Can you Believe this is a Hyundai

Unfortunately, were not talking about an aftermarket tune. I would be more accepting in that instance. I've seen those octane specific ones on the aftermarket for VW and BMWs for a while. What I've never seen before is a stock ECU on stock programming need to do anything special. E85 is a...

Can you Believe this is a Hyundai

Ughhh..And that... Every other automaker on the planet has figured out how to design the software and sensors to dynamically adjust to fuel octane levels. You'd think a global company the size of Hyundai/Kia/Genesis could figure it out too.

My BRZ meets the ADS Quartz Coating

I'm glad it isn't just me. Sometimes when I encounter issues or things don't quite go as the manufacturer says, I wonder if I did something wrong.

Can you Believe this is a Hyundai

Hyundai dropped the ball by never giving us the i30 N too. By all accounts is a true GTI fighter, and might even beat it. I've never understood why Hyundai of all people didn't simply bring the good stuff the sell the rest of the world rather than dumbing down their vehicle line for the US market.

Can you Believe this is a Hyundai

Spotted my first Ioniq 5 N at an event I drove in a couple weeks ago. Cool to see one actually being driven in anger. I'm still amazed at how big these things are in real life versus how they look in pictures. Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk

My BRZ meets the ADS Quartz Coating

Despite only applying Gyeon Pure EVO to my car last year I found myself having to coat the car again. Last fall I was re-ended and a significant number of parts to the back half of the car were replaced and/or repainted. Since the car is so small, I decided to just go ahead redo the entire...

    Wheel Cleaning Help

Are those spots on the surface or are they etched into the wheel? From the picture it looks like something ate into the finish.

How did you find the cut of Essence? Is there a cure time like there is with the Gyeon product?

    Teach me: Primer Polishes

This is helpful and throws up to flags for me. First, if I still have to use a panel wipe, I see it as being less valuable to me, even though a panel wipe is a fast and easy step. Second, and the biggest one, would be compatibility issues. I'm really not a "system" guy and like to mix and...

    Teach me: Primer Polishes

Thanks everyone! The more I read into them and thought about your comments/experiences it becomes pretty clear they aren't for me. I already have a process and some products that provide good results and in a time frame I like. I'll likely tweak them a bit but won't bother with primers.

    Teach me: Primer Polishes

I just recently finished polishing out and re-coating my BRZ (another thread coming) and noticed I'm now really low on finishing polish. I've been very pleased with Griots BOSS Perfecting Cream and wouldn't hesitate to buy another bottle, but before replenishing my stock I remembered the primer...
