You could UPC the surface the CQU the surface with CQ. Then apply LSP to seal. Just my FYI.

I use the Speedy Prep Towel (fine). An appropriate lube and done in no time. Key for me is do "baggy test" first to see if needed.

Heck with it I'm going to try it on my powder coated winter rims (the barrels). It's May 24 long weekend so lots of time to try. Going to try PlastX , Plastic Polish that starts with N vs Menzerns 3800 and Meguiar Mirror Glaze. Might even use some 2000 grit wet sanding to see what works best

The tires do not really have brake dust (which is black), this is brown blooming. As far as dressing-well that is debateable to no end (I took stock I have 6 for my one car detailing project).

This is what I try to do even with my own personal write ups on various projects I do. It maks it easy to follow up and doesn't create confusion if you use the wrong one.

I tried the sprayer vs sponge and found the sponge worked better. Less drying towels and better cleaning. Also used less product.

When polishing plastic, remember it doesn't dissapaite heat the same as metal. To test, do small section like you do on metal and feel the face of the pad. Go from there. If it is too hot, it will damage your pad first and then the paint. I first discovered this when doing my bumper cover...

Re: Why do pads turn I have had pad turn black when compouding fresh clearcoat. It is not single stage paint (silver in colour). Same idea as sanding clear makes it white I guess.

How much are they I can't find in the store.

The best bet is water after you do a panel. You would be surprised how good it removes polishing residue if it is fresh. Once it has dried well multiple products to try. What I do is after a panel I wipe with cloth then hose off (if possible) and no problems. Water will require less cleanup...

In Ontario (Canada) if the plate is trashed in under 3 years they replace it free. If it is over three then 20.00 - 25.00 (about the same as 3M adhesive remover-which works great by the way for lots of other stuff).
