The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

Obviously the condition of the paint will dictate what you can reasonably do, but I've used HD Speed before with great results. I guess it all boils down to expectations.

    IPA confusion ??

There is some truth to what he is saying in his video. However, there are also a lot of conditional statements that he makes, and thus, he is speaking very broadly about isopropyl alcohol. Regarding the nature of isopropyl alcohol as an organic solvent, I largely disagree with him. Isopropyl...

    Post Your Unpacking Pictures

I will probably still use it. I just didn't want to use it on my personal vehicle given the potential issues. I wasn't willing to put in the work and have to potentially correct it.

    Post Your Unpacking Pictures

No. There were quite a number of people who either publicly or privately reached out to me about gyeon View. To be honest, when I read that the coating also needed to be applied to the wipers, I was starting to have second thoughts. Unless you have experience with it, I can't tell you how...

    Gyeon Syncro

I suspect Panel Wipe is turpentine or mineral spirits. It just laughs - followed by a simultaneous burp and fart - at anything on paint. I use it around the house as well to remove things The Boy draws on...

    Gyeon Syncro

There have been a few Gyeon products that I will never buy again: 1. Booster. They probably reformulated this, but the version I had flashed so quickly I didn't know where it was applied! 2. Prep. Panel Wipe is WAY better. 3. Bug & Grime. Nothing wrong with it. APC works just as well. 4. View...

    Gyeon Syncro

Wow. I've got to hand it to Gyeon for developing this product. I dove in deep with Gyeon a few years ago because (honestly) I thought the name and the packaging was cool, and I had a hunch it was related to TAC and CarPro in some way (all three of which I love). After doing some sleuthing on...

Not washed my car in a month...

Yup. More or less the same for me during the winter in Chicago. When it gets up above 40 degrees in the garage, I might do a rinseless wash if the car is absolutely disgusting. It's rained quite a bit in Chicago lately as well, so I haven't been washing much. After I come in from the rain, I...

    Rupes Green Pads?

Wow: amazing that you started/finished with FG400. I usually have to finish with SF4000 or SF4500. And just the green pad? Did you lighten the pressure toward the end?

    Syncro Sold Itself

I can't comment about Syncro, but I got nearly two years out of Gyeon Mohs by itself. Now, this has to be taken with a grain of salt. I used SiO2 toppers every now and again like Quartz Max and Wet Coat. The longevity of Mohs itself is what is convincing me to go with Syncro for my vehicles.

    1986 Porsche Carrera

Are you kidding?!?! This was MY dream car growing up in the 80s! :) Nice work, Scott. You turned a dull, uninteresting 911 into a stunner!

    Bug removal

I'll second (or third, fourth or fifth...) the notion of using just a rinseless wash-soaked towel(s) or even water-soaked towels to soften up the bugs. I did a review of Gyeon Bug and Grime about 1 year ago (unfortunately, I am victim to the Photobucket debacle). See it here:Review: Gyeon Bug &...

Look who's gonna do some buffin' and shinin'!! (In retrospect, the red is pretty cool, but I should have realized that at least for now, they'll have to be washed separately.)

    Wow, It Looks Brand New!

We all detail cars for one reason or another. Some of us detail cars for a living. Some of us detail cars for the pure enjoyment of seeing the end result. Some of us just use it as a form of exercise. I'm fortunate to be one of those individuals who details cars for the pure enjoyment of the...

    CSL+EXO versus Syncro

My base comparison has always been C1+EXOv2, since that was the first coating I used. Simply amazing gloss and hydrophobicity. In a few weeks, I'll be using Syncro given my great success with Mohs nearly 2 years ago. Unlike the instructions state (and Guz), I used only one coat of Mohs before...
