Sonax Speed Protect Vs Sonax High Speed Wax?

Wish I knew... hard to tell. I did notice that the application (via videos) are different. My guess is that the formulation is a little different (they both have some silicone in them which is interesting), with HSW being more retail/OTC oriented and the SP being catering to the pro detailer.

Blackfire SiO2 Paint Sealant vs McKee's 10 minute paint sealant

Blackfire's previous coating had documented claims in this forum that touted it had more SiO2 than other competing products. While possible, I hope this is still the case, and time usually helps make the case one way or the other.

Layering Pinnacle Liquid Souveran Car Wax

With all due respect, there is no cure time in a strict sense because there are no polymers in Souveran that "cross-link", and from what I know about this product there is nothing synthetic in the formulation. If one does wait at all, the curing would be natural evaporation of the solvents...

    Opti-Clean issues

I have it as well from a trade and struggling to find a great use case for it. It's so much "in the middle" of every typical use that there always seems to be a negative affect. I can't figure it out.

    Correct Technique for MEnzerna products

If you are outside and it is hot out it will dust faster. Most other weather conditions Menzerna won't really dust.

What to do..... What to do?

You can go with Lake Country's backing plates or the GG, both will serve you well. As for pads I use Lake Country, GG, and Detailed Image's stuff - never really been disappointed so never needed to go beyond these 3. When I was little I went to a pretzel factory and learned this factory made...

    Pinnacle Jeweling Wax

Awesome job on the Maserati Mike. I understand the points you are making, but at the end of the day some folks don't need to differentiate between a jeweling wax and a cleaner wax (KISS principle). This would be a good poll actually.

    Pinnacle Jeweling Wax

For the casual hobbyist I CERTAINLY AM making an argument that they are effectively the same. That's why I started the thread, using PJW as a proxy for the discussion. Whether the pad or product abrades is semantics, chemical cleaners or not, I can understand some may need the granular...

    Pinnacle Jeweling Wax

Well we should just be talking about PJW... but for the most part people got off topic because one post is attempting to compare the price of a finishing wax to a jeweling wax - which is not really an apples to apple comparison when you consider THE FACT that a Jeweling Wax is a more current...

    IPA & Water Mix ratio

IMHO.... IPA is a good basic cleaner for relatively clean windows. For anything caked on the glass IPA wouldn't do the job. That said, start off with a 1:1 ration with either 70% of 90% IPA and move up or down from there based on preference.

    Pinnacle Jeweling Wax

And there is another product *not* on my shelf. Hmmmm.... I can understand premium, but I cannot see it here when you got Menzerna, 3D, etc...

    Pinnacle Jeweling Wax

PBMG.... I don't know.... but $45 for 16 oz. of a cleaner wax .... man this stuff better do things wax beyond competing products to justify over $2.81 per oz. Personally, I think you are losing an edge with this type of price point... Pinnacle Souveran Jeweling Wax

    Opinions on wax

I recommend Dodo Juice Supernatural Hybrid. It's better than LF and RR - and I have used these 3 and a few other Dodo waxes.

Ceramic coating real life swirl/scratch resistance

One really, REALLY, REALLY needs to read up on these products today. The marketing is such, by manufacturer and distributors alike, to promote a sense of omnipotence to mother nature. At the end of the day, coatings make "maintenance" easier over the long-term, or the length of durability of...

    Buffing Carnauba Wax?

For all "practical" purposes.... no.... there are better steps to take prior to applying an LSP to get the shine you would look for from a carnauba.

Is this a joke? BF Pro APC is $70/gallon?!?!?!

I did the math too with OPC, similar figures and it does work just a tad better than Megs APC+ - definitely better than Purple Power (my $9.99/gal test). Agree here. Context-wise, premium products have 3-legs propping them up... 1) effective production and marketing, 2) premium pricing to...

Goodbye WRX, Hello Civic Si! New Daily Driver

My daughter upgraded her '13 Elantra manual for the same exact car Nick. She loves it. I do to - especially since I put some Opti Coat on it before anyone had a chance to mess it up. :-) Best of luck!!!

    Pinnacle Advanced or Wolfgang 3.0?

From what I have read in the past (and recall), Menzerna developed the product based on PBMG's requirements. Arguably they may be "similar" but they don't perform the same in all situations.

    Pinnacle Advanced or Wolfgang 3.0?

    That's reasonable.
