Cyclo Pad Selection with 205 or XMT 360

I washed and clayed my 2009 Scion tC today and hope to polish it tomorrow. The hood is in pretty rough shape with many hood chips. The rest of the Crimson has medium swirls. I have a couple of choices: M205 or XMT 360. Should I start with the 205 and move to the 360 or just use the 360. I have a...

    2010 Tundra Keyed Last Night

My 2010 Toyota Tundra Platinum was keyed last night. Both fenders, quarter panels, and all four doors. Down to the primer - there were fine threads of primer hanging from the scratches. I assume that this is too big of a job for Dr. Color Chip. Is there anything I can do short of a complete...

    Cyclo

When folks ask for advice on a buffer I rarely see the Cyclo mentioned? Is this due to size, fixed RPM or other issues? BTW, I have one and I am a "newbie".

Meguiars Hot Rims vd Detailer Wheel Brightener

I just used Hot Rims on very dirty stock Scion tC rims and was very pleased with the results - using various brushes. The only problem: I can use one bottle for 4 wheels. I could not find it in a gallon size. Hence, this question: is Detailer Wheel Brightener comparable? The price is very...

    Back In The Day....Liquid Ebony

Back in the day - era mid 70's - there was a product called Liquid Ebony. I think it was made by a company called Cleanbrite or Clearbrite. Anyhow, it sure did wonders for black cars in that era. What was this product - just a glaze? Has it been replaced by better products today? Was it strictly...

    2008 Scion tC

I am looking for some advice here. The car is a 2008 Scion tC - almost 4 years old, never garaged, never waxed. I washed it yesterday. Taped it this morning. My equipment: Cyclo with green pads (I do not have any orange pads) and Griots 3 inch polisher. I started with the Cyclo with green pads...

    Water Spots

I washed my engine with P21S. I worked a section at a time so the entire process took about 6 hours. I now find that I have some water spots on horizontal areas - like in front of the headlights. What is the best way to remove these spots? Compound?

    Storage in Car Capsule/Bubble

I store my car in my garage, in a car capsule during the winter. Just wondering if there are any negatives to this. I recently posted about Leatherique and got to thinking that perhaps - just perhaps - the constantly moving air may have contributed to the dry leather.

Hoses Are Too Glossy - Phony Look

Here is my story. I detailed my engine compartment with too much shine! I will be showing the car where original/as from the factory is very important. I glossed up my hoses with Armor All and also (sigh) WD40. Is there anything that I can do to de-gloss the hoses?
