Was the dewalt dw849 type 2 manufactured using defective trigger switches which not allows the polisher to vary its speed properly by pressing on it . Does anyone have problems with this?

This pad came with the dewalt I got used. I have no idea what it was used for. Its a solid piece pad with a hard felt in the middle and covered with wool I think. The center has a hole to install. Is it for buffing out wax or applying polish? I included some photos.

Does anyone know of a place that sells used parts for polishers ? I have a polisher that did not come with the side handle and the factory wants as much for the handle as I paid for entire polisher used. Any have some junk polishers they want sell some parts off of?

I got a used dewalt dw849 from ebay today. Trying it out now and notice when you press the switch trigger it sometimes has a hard jerk when trying to up the rpm up slowly. I have the control dial set at 1000. Is this polisher suppose to be able to control the prm at like 300 or 500 by...
