Read you were suppose to apply air tool oil to the felt ring before using. No problem, I did it as shown by Mike in an earlier thread. But what is the purpose? It fits in a metal groove, but I couldn't see where the backing plate even made contact with the felt ring.

Somewhere I recall a video talking about the differences in machine polishing plastic/vinyl car parts vs metal parts - i.e., car bumpers vs hood, roof, and side panels. Any differences or treat them the same? Or do you do plastic/vinyl by hand only?

Still not sure about the value using something like Pinnacle's pad cleaner and conditioner. I've heard about 50/50 on the subject. Can anyone tell me what works best?

Watched some of your videos, but haven't seen anything mentioned about the effects of using a DA over pin striping or lettering taped on the car. Do you do the area on and around the striping by hand, or can you use a DA? Any problems with using various polishes/waxes?
