Anything wrong with using APC instead of dedicated wheel cleaner

I have the new Meg non-acid wheel cleaner and it works great but what am I gaining versus APC only? I hit the wheels with Iron X every once in a while but other than that what's wrong with APC only for tires and wheels?

Help! Please! I sanded through my clear coat

I was trying to repair my door from a chip and accidentially sanded through my clear. It's a 2000 Mercedes so not the most expensive car but I do like to have it looking it's best. I took it to the body shop and they quoted me $450 for the spot repair. Is that high? Any suggestions on what I...

    Nightmares about the shipping peanuts

Just picked up my latest delivery from UPS last night. Opened the box in the car and now I have shipping peanuts everywhere. I hate those things. Can't wait to clean my car out this weekend and get those things out.

Starting a petition - No more packaging peanuts

Just got my most recent autogeek.net order in the mail yesterday, 2-Detailer's Pride air fresheners and 2-Lake Country microfiber pads. I was happy with the order but.... I hate those damn packaging peanuts. Am I alone? Can we just go to paper by default for all orders? Then, if someone...

XMT 360 - Little to no correction ability

I have been stocking up on this product with all of the XMT BOGO's and finally had the chance to use XMT 360 on a project this weekend. I hit it with the Flex and an orange pad. Then I went to the rotary with the same orange pad. I did not see much going on here. Very little correction and...

Microfiber Pad On A Rotary - Don't Do It!!

I spent the day detailing a relative's car today and was experimenting with different pad and chemical combinations. I settled on the Meg's microfier system. Just for fun on a side panel I tool an Optimum microfiber pad on a side panel and yikes! It was so difficult to control. I don't hear...

    Rotary W/White Pad = DA W/Orange Pad

Ok, so after my last post a number of you have me convinced that the DA might still have it's place in my practice. I have had a number of days to think about it and I guess that maybe I have been taking the wrong approach. Mike - I am even more convinced that I need your class now! So let...

Why would anyone use a DA for paint correction??

Why would anyone use a DA for paint correction?? So I just spend the afternoon yesterday putting a shine on my daily driver. I spent about an hour working through different polisher/pad/chemical options before proceeding to do the job. I ended up with the Flex 14-2-150 rotary with a white...

I love autogeek but I have two complaints...

I think that I first became an autogeek customber back in 2007. I was amazed at all of the cool car detail products under one roof. As time has gone on I have continued to purchase more and more to the point where I have quite an extensive collection of tools and I buy about $100 of products...

What products do you use to polish white paint?

I recently completed a detail on my wife's 2004 Honda accord. It was in good shape but because it was regularly washed at the cheap car wash it was full of fine scratches. I buffed it out and it now looks great but I am wondering how I can take the shine to the next level. Here is what I did...
