Wet Sanding... pulling out new paint?

My wife had a run in with a fence that left some nasty deep scratches. The scratches are all over the bumper and it had to be painted so I figured before I do this, why not try a little wet sanding. So about a week or so ago, I wiped down the bumper with wax/grease remover and applied dealer...

    Beaters

Just curious... does anyone on AGO own a beater? I told my wife the other day that I was planning on getting a reliable (i guess this could be an oxymoron) beater. Then she responded by saying "Stop lying. You're going to end up making it all shinny and new." Thought about it for a second...

    Bleaching MF?

I got some 550GSM MF towels that are pretty good and I intend on using these for my rinseless wash. Only problem here is that the towel is a rather a dark blue and I can't really see the dirty very well. So I was considering bleaching it. Any ill effects of bleaching MF towels?

    Autogeek.net on Acurazine?

Just curious... does AG have membership on the Acurazine forums? Just yesterday, I saw a Autogeek.net posting in the wash and wax section on Acurazine.

    What a shame....

94' Acura Legend LOADED RIMS TINT BOSE LEATHER Sunroof I am pretty big Acura Legend fan and it pains me to see this car this way... That interior is just disgusting and the exterior lost all its shine. If this was a GS with original wheels, I think I would have jumped on it and restore it back...

    Non staining wax/sealant

I know that Meg's ULW does not stain rubber or plastic trims. What other wax/sealant will not stain trims?

    Forum Sticky for New Comers

Not sure if this has been addressed prior but I think it might be a good idea to have a sticky so that new comers can answer some questions regarding their situation. This way members can address the issue on hand more efficiently. Most often than not, there aren't enough information provided to...

Questions of LC CCS vs MF Pads and Nanoskin AutoScrub

I own a 2012 Acura Crystal Black Pearl Acura TL and in the past I have had good success on LC CCS 5.5 orange pads to take out swirls and scratches with Meg's UC. I have had these pads for about 6 months now but they seem to be losing effectiveness? The reason for me suspecting the lost of...

    Baked in Bird Poop

I am a weekend warrior who occasionally detail friend's cars. However, my car is pretty well maintained with weekly washes and all the stains I've come across thus far came off with ease. Now to the meat of this thread... this past weekend I did a quick wash, clay and wax on a friend's...

    At the dealer...

Right now I am at the dealer getting my scheduled service and I can hear the roar of the rotary.... got shivers down my spine. Altho my work order has no detail in it I had to run back to my service advisor to remind them NOT to wash my car.

    Langka or Dr Color Chip?

I have some chips that needs to be address and I have been delaying this for a quite a bit. I have some time off coming up pretty soon and figured I should attend to this. I like the fact that with the Langka, you use the OEM touch up paint. Dr. Color Chip on the other hand, you use their...

    Lease Return Special!

Looks like I might be working on a friend's newly acquired, new to him, white MB ML350 soon. Went to take a look at it this past weekend to see what I will be dealing with. Other than the car being filthy and having some light swirls and scratches here and there, looks like it had one of those...

    Cleaner & Polish: Detailer's Definition

The NXT thread got me thinking.... What is the proper detailer's definition of a cleaner and a polish when it comes to paint? Maybe its just me but it seems that these 2 terms are used very loosely. I have seen the term cleaner used for compounds and waxes and I have seen the term polish used...

Leaf Blower - a few other uses

I initally bought a leaf blower to dry my car. This past weekend, I found a few other uses for it. 1. Blow the interior: Open up all doors and windows and blow out out the interior then do a wipe down. Certainly faster than vaccuming. 2. Blow the exterior: I do riniseless wash and since I do...
