    Are Nissan paints better?

Since I did my first semi-decent paint restoration and detailing job, I'm paying more attention to car paint when I take daily walks. I especially pay attention to white cars as 2/3 of my cars are white. I swear Nissan paint (especially white) is one of the nicer and glossier or alternatively...

this is really why bird dropings are harmful

from: Bird poo paint damage explained - how to protect your car |#CarAdvice The explanation totally makes sense as uric acid is very weak and unlikely to be harmful chemically. But, I don't see how any type of wax/coating can protect from dried droppings and temp cycling of paint. They can make...

    my first OC2 project

I just did detailing of a 2003 corolla. Not perfect and I didn't remove all scratches but I was afraid to remove too much paint (single stage). I finished OC2 application and it went well. I thought I used a lot of product as it took at least 10 drops to make the applicator wet enough to...

nanoskin sponge: first time user. pictures and question

I bout the combo package here: red medium and blue fine. It's supposed to be better than clay: Nanoskin Autoscrub Speedy Prep Sponge Fine Grade Review - YouTube The project car is neglected and while washed regularly, never clayed in 10 years. Thus I started with red medium sponge. The good...

noob questions on MF applicators and towels

I included these in my first AG order: I was planning to use them with compound and polish to work by hand in small recessed ares like handle wells and similar. Will they work for that or do I need something different? I also got the green MF towels: They are super soft and I love the...

    Upload problems

I tried numerous times on different PCs and different networks (home vs work). Unless the jpg file is ridiculously small (like 100kb), it wont upload (no errors or messages, just nothing in the gallery). Note the instructions say "No file size limit". What is going on?

How do you clean opti-coat foam applicator?

I did a search and didn't find the answer. I understand that the OC 2.0 kit is enough for 2 cars. While I did find some info on how to store the syringe between jobs, there is nothing on the foam applicator. Water based wash? Petroleum solvents? Or disposable after one job? Thanks!

Here is my plan for my first advanced detailing

Feel free to critique. The car is my former DD car (white 2003 corolla) that was garaged and regularly washed/waxed. I gave it to my kid a couple of years ago, she kept the car in the sun a lot and was not as religious about washing/waxing. Not surprising, the finish suffered a lot. It's...
