    Menzerna PowerGloss

A customer brought his Audi over this week. I have no idea what he used, but he was trying to remove some sap. Which was a PAIN to remove (until I was taught a cool trick). Scratching the hell out of it, almost looked like wet sanding. So I went ahead and polished the car with SIP and CCS orange...

    Learned My Limitations...

Well I learned my limitations today. I was working on a red 04 vette with moderate to severe swirls. I knew the clear was hard, but I didnt realize how hard. This was BY FAR the hardest clear Ive ever worked on. I guess thats not saying too much since Ive only been doing this for a couple years...

    6.5" Pads w/ 5" BP

Ive been thinking about this and Im not so sure 6.5" pads with a 5" backing plate is very efficient. I mean you've got a whole 1.5" around the BP where the pad isnt seeing the same amount of pressure. Sure this is one of the reasons you need to overlap your passes, but wouldnt a 6" BP with 6.5"...

It doesnt need to have any sealant properties because I will be topping the wheels with DP wheel glaze or Jetseal. Ill be using it with my...

    Clay

Used 4* clay the other day on a black Durango and it marred the paint a little. I was polishing anyways, so it wasnt a HUGE deal. But I dont like inducing more imperfections then whats already there. I understand sometimes you NEED to use a harsh clay though. BUT anyways, I was wondering if...

    Detailed: 2006 Touareg

This car is another dealership story. Rotary in the wrong hands= holograms all over the place. Then went to another shop and they didnt remove them. Not only that, but there were still swirls and scratches under the holograms. Also stained trim and wax residue all over. Other then that, the...

    Detailed: 06 Jeep

This Rubicon was in pretty good condition. Only 6,xxx on the odometer. Had some minor swirls and paint transfer. Worst spot was the hood. Required rotary and possibly wet sanding. Both of which I cant do on customer cars, yet. This was an exterior detail only. And it has a HARD clear. Wash...

    Long Awaited Soap Tests

I tested CG Citrus Wash, DP Xtreme, and Meg's NXT wash. I used 1 oz. of soap in 16 oz. of water in the foam cannon. Cant really judge cleaning ability between the three because of the way I tested each one. CG and DP seemed to be very similar. CG Citrus Wash Right after application 1 min...

This is done on a few other boards I belong to. Basically the point of it is to see who really has the experience, and lets new members know who to take advice from. You've got a little scale next to your user name. The scale is in the form of green dots. The more green dots you have the more...
