How do you polish along edges?

I own a GG 6" DA with 5.5" LC CCS and CG hex foam pads. I use Meguiar's M105, Ultimate Compound, and M205. The setup works great for polishing flat surfaces, but I am struggling to polish edges that meet up with trim and window surfaces. The edges of the pads do not receive enough downward force...

Which BP size best fits CG Self Centered Pads?

I've been searching the Chemical Guy website and this forum, but can't find an answer for this. Do CG Hex-logic Self Centered pads best fit a 3.5" or 3" backing plate? And does anyone here have experience with these pads? Do you like them?

Is the $130 round boars hair brush worth the cost?

I have been weekly washing with the two bucket method with chenille wash mitts on three family cars. But constantly bending over is taking a toll on my back. Has anyone tried the Montana round boars hair brush with wand? I saw Mike Phillips using it on one of the videos but a review on Amazon...

I learned you need to be careful cleaning the wheel wells.

Are 4" pads necessary or just nice to have?

Newbie here. I haven't done anything to the car yet. I ordered and received a set of 5.5" CCS pads with a 5" backing plate. Do I need to buy 4" pads to tackle the smaller parts like the A-pillars or can I get away with adequately taping up the trim and use the 5.5" pads for the entire car?

Is it possible to polish out these scratches in the chrome trim?

The scratches are on a chrome strip that goes along the top edge of the passenger door. I believe it is made of metal. You can see a pic of it in the link below. I would like to remove them if possible, but I don't know what tool and product I can use. On a related note, how can I protect the...

Is this degree of orange peel typical for a new car?

My girlfriend just bought a new car, a white 2014 Honda Accord. I am learning how to detail for the first time and would like to help her protect the finish with a paint sealant, topped with a wax. But I notice that the clear coat does not quite have a mirror-like finish. Instead, it is rather...

Did I make a mistake buying the PC 7424XP?

I'm a newbie who is wants to get into detailing because my girlfriend just bought a new car and I would like to do what I can to protect and maintain it's new finish while also putting an end to neglecting the paint on my own vehicle. I bought the Porter Cable 7424XP for a $100 based on the...
