2022 BMW M3 - First correction and UK 3.0 Coating

Hey all...I waited for this car for nine months and then waiting another couple of months for a warm day to coat it. I have to say I am very happy with the results. Since new, I've kept it clean with regular washes. My neighbors think I'm crazy as I'm sure many of you can related to. But...

UK 3.0 noob here...quick question on removal

All, I'm going to be coating my new M3 today. I've landed on two coats of Uk 3.0 and a topper of Gliss. I've got the car cleaned and corrected. Now it's on to the coating. I'm going hit each panel with some Eraser and then go. I do have a question about removal though. I've seen...

    Polisher for small areas?

Does anyone out there use a polisher or drill attachment to get those small areas on the car? I'm thinking about the glossy trim around the windows or b-pillars? I usually do them by hand, but wondering if there is a better way. Thanks!

    LED Lighting

Mike, Do you have a favorite type of LED light for ceiling mounted fixtures? I've heard conflicting things about 5,000K vs. 6,500K. Any insight you have would be awesome. Thanks.

Show us your garage lighting setup

Hey all...I'm an intermediate hobbyist and have always struggled with finding defects with handheld lights. I've decided to up my garage game and install some LED light bars on the ceiling in the garage. I'm thinking about these fixtures as they were recommended on another detailing site. I'm...

    ONR Dilution for Pre-rinse

Hey all...So I'm in the middle of the Midwest winter which mean no outdoor washing for me. After a snow storm, I typically go to a self spray car wash and just use water to get off the salt and sand. I was thinking I'd spray the lower panels of the car down with ONR first to loosen up as much...

    Sealant suggestions...

Hey all...I need some advice on product selection. I'm expecting to take delivery of a new BMW M3 in a few weeks. Unfortunately, since I live in Chicago, I won't be able to do my full new car prep outdoors as my hose is off and it's cold! Ultimately, I'm going to apply CQ UK3.0 with a coat of...

My First Attempt at Coating - My personal Tesla

Hey all...Just wanted to thank everyone for the advice on here and post my results from my first ceramic coating. I am waiting (not so patiently) for my M3 to arrive, but in the meantime I thought I would hone some of my skills and get ready. I decided to go with Cquartz Lite and give it a...

    Ceramic noob here...need some advice

Hey All, I need some advice. I'd call myself somewhat of an advanced hobby detailer. I'm not at the level of some of you pros, but over the years I've become fairly competent at removing defects and maintaining the finish. I have a solid wash routine and have a PC, Flex, and rotary. I'm...

Flex 3401 and Force Hybrid Pads

All, I just picked up a 2008 Jetta to use to go back and forth from the train station every day while I wait for my new car to arrive (whenever BMW decides I'm allowed to have it.) Overall, the car is in pretty good shape. There are some defects and swirls on every panel. I'm going to go to...

My own Tesla Model Y - New Car Detail

Hey All, We just took delivery on this new Tesla Model Y for my wife. Overall, we love this car, but of course I needed to spend the day with it first before she could drive it. I did my typical new car routine including decontamination, polish, and sealant. I know Tesla has a reputation for...

    Detailing light

Hey guys...I’m looking for a light to help make defects, swirls, etc. stand out as I correct and polish. Any recommendations I should be looking for? I’m just wondering if the detailing specific lights add value, or if I can hit Home Depot and buy something a bit les expensive. Thanks!

    Pad selection and quantities

All, Quick question for those of you with the Flex 3401. I'm going to be using a Flex with M105 and M205. I figure I'm going to try the LC Force Hybrid pads - white for 205 and orange/gray with the 105 as needed. First, is this a good pad selection for these polishes? Second, how many...

    2019 AMG C43 Spring Detail

Hey All, Since we are stuck at home, I figured it was a perfect time to get some Spring detailing done. Usually my wife hates when I clean my car because I spend all day in the garage. But with social distancing, it doesn't seem to be a problem . I thought I'd post because even though it's a...

    PC vs Flex

All, I started detailing with a PC years ago and moved up to a rotary tool. I love the power of the rotary but find myself using the PC more just due to ease of use and the fact that it's hard to do damage. Do you guys think it's worth checking out the flex? Will I get much better results...
