So in the 5 step cleaning of a car is there any wait time between steps? if so where and how long before doing next step? for example when i apply polish to car do i have to wait to apply wax or can i do it right after?

So i just bought a 6"in DA polisher. Now the question is what color pads do i use for ultimate compound, ultimate polish, and ultimate liquid wax. Since polish and wax dont need to much presure would it be fine to do these by hand?
