20% off Tool-Time One Day Only - so very tempting!

Love this time of year when AG hits us with daily discounts/specials like today's 20% off tools. My pocketbook isn't a fan, however :) I am looking to add a second Flex 3401 to my arsenal and saving $80+ makes total cents(or is it sense?) Now if I can only convince the wife....sigh! David

    Flex 3401 stopped working

The Beast stopped working for me while detailing an F250 this week. Not sure what the issue is? Plug it in and nothing. Does that mean the trigger is bad? Bought it from AG two years ago. It should last longer than that I would think. David

1970 Chevy Monte Carlo & Blackfire One Step

Spent the last two days with a nice looking '70 Chevy Monte Carlo. 125K+ miles. The vehicle was repainted BC/CC. The owner didn't opt for a multi-step makeover so I did what I could using Blackfire One Step with my Flex 3401 and white/orange LC Hybrid pads. Gotta love these older cars - huge...

Sharing before/after pics on social media made my phone ring!

Just a quick real-world experience I had this week and thought I'd share. I cleaned up some foggy headlights for a customer, shared the before/after pics on my FB page and my phone rang an hour later from a total stranger, saying she has two vehicles that need the same headlight restoration. Cha...

Headlight Restoration using Mirka discs & McKee's 37 Polish

Did an interior detail recently and noticed the vehicle's headlights were in need of some TLC. Figured the owner wouldn't mind as she's a friend of mine. Used the 3 inch Mirka sanding discs(1k, 2k, 3k, & 4k grit) on my PC 7424XP. Then followed it up with McKee's 37 AIO Headlight Restoring...

'05 Caddy XLR Hardtop Convertible gets some TLC

I had this cool-looking XLR stop by recently. The paint was in tough shape. Used FG 400 on the hood/trunk with the FLEX 3401 and orange LC Hybrid pad. Followed it up with 3800. HD Speed everywhere else as the owner didn't want to pay for a multi-step so we reached a compromise. Pinnacle...

Mercedes Benz Sprinter Van gets some TLC

One of my best customers brought back the van the boys take to Canada fishing every summer. Used HD Speed/Flex 3401/LC Hybrid Orange pads. Had to work in the sun as the van didn't fit in the garage. 50/50 shot of the hood... Love HD Speed and glad that AG now sells it in the gallon jug...

1979 Ford F100 - my first SIV - Special Interest Vehicle

Hey all, Took two years of detailing daily drivers part-time(seasonal here in Wisconsin) before I got a chance to clean up a cool truck. '79 F100 - mostly original other than the LED headlights, dual exhaust, and bench seat. It was repainted a few years ago - basecoat/clearcoat - still fun to...

Need advice...How do I politely turn away a potential customer?

Just some quick background - been detailing part-time(seasonal - I'm in the upper Midwest) for 3 years and have a pretty solid customer base, mostly repeat customers. Then I get the call out of the blue from someone who wants the interior of her minivan cleaned up and she says "it's not that...

Does anyone use floor mat hangers? Is there a cheaper DIY method?

I just insulated and drywalled my garage where I do a majority of my detailing work. Need something to hang floor mats while they dry and am considering these... Is there a cheaper, DIY alternative? For what it's worth, I do like the look(very professional) but hard to justify the cost...

AG forgot my Free Sample....yet again.

This happens way too often IMO. Anyone else experience this? Place an order including a free 2 oz sample of some product and it fails to show up. Why offer this option if the 'picker' doesn't do his/her job? I can only assume the purpose of AG giving out free samples is the customer tries the...

AG now offering HD Speed in the 128 oz size....about time!

Just noticed that we can finally purchase the gallon jug of HD Speed from AG. With a product that popular, I'm surprised it took so long. Been asking for 2+ years "why no gal jug?" - my prayers have been answered. Love the stuff for production detailing. 3D HD Speed 128 oz. #HDSpeedRocks! David

LC Force Hybrid Wool Cutting Pad...how do you guys clean it after a detail?

I used this LC Wool pad for the first time today on a trashed Honda CR-V - black no less. Worked great paired with the Flex 3401 and FG 400. https://www.autogeek.net/lc-hyb-150bw.html Question is - how do I clean this pad or any wool pad for that matter? BTW, I used a spur to clean the...

    HD Speed now costs more

HD Speed is my 'go-to' AIO for production detailing. Love this product like so many of you. However, I couldn't help but notice that a 32 oz bottle is now $29.99 - used to be in the $22.99 ballpark. 3D HD Speed 32 oz. Interestingly enough, McKee's 360 is also now $29.99 for a 32 oz bottle...

Free samples from the AG store - what's going on?

Anyone else notice that the free car care samples that I always include whenever I order from AG have been greatly diminished? Just one in the Pinnacle lineup, three Wolfgang products, and a few Blackfire and Marine 31 products. Just curious - love those samples - would hate to see that go...

Mercedes Benz Sprinter Van gets some TLC

Knocked out a MB Sprinter Van recently. The paint was in awful condition - swirled out with a layer of gunky film. Used FG 400/3500 on my Flex 3401. 50/50 50/50 of hood Did the interior too...glad to have this one behind me Thanks for looking, David

    32' Sundowner Horse Trailer

Knocked out another horse trailer - two in two weeks. No wonder I'm sore. '04 trailer that needed some TLC. Used HD Speed on white LC Hybrid pads on Flex 3401. Used Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish on a PC 7424 for the aluminum and stainless steel on the front. Tight areas polished by hand...

Finally got around to detailing this horse trailer. Thanks to the forum members and Mike P for the 'how to'. Went with HD Speed on a LC Hybrid white polishing pad on the Flex 3401. Used Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish for the aluminum trim and side panels above the tires. Finally put those...

Anyone using Hose Slides when washing?

I've been contemplating purchasing these Hose Slides as the cords and hoses are constantly getting stuck under the tires. Anyone use them? The Autogeek Hose Slide - 2 Pack Like you, I move pretty quickly during a detail and think I'd forget that I put them there and drive over em. Are there...
