    Two minivan family:)

Traded off the Trans Am (pictured in my avatar) and our RX330 for a used 2015 Honda Odyssey, EX-L. Obsidian blue, really nice medium/dark blue. That officially makes us a two minivan family. I got the Odyssey before the dealer could slime up the dash and stink up the interior with perfumey...

Quick, time saving engine dressing tip

I recently detailed this 2008 Sienna and thought I’d share a quick tip/suggestion. I used a pressure washer on a lower setting with a 25 degree tip. APC was Britemax Grime Out at 9:1. Various brushes and pressure wash rinse. Dried with electric leaf blower. I normally don’t care for much...

How to remove Texas/New Mexican dust in Wisconsin?

So, I couldn’t figure out why my car had this sandy colored, pollen looking substance on it today. The “bomb cyclone” brought New Mexican and Texas dust all the way to Wisconsin. Crazy! A 'Bomb Cyclone' Is Thwacking The Central U.S. | Wisconsin Public Radio Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How much would you charge for applying Aquapel?

I detailed my neighbors Honda HRV earlier this summer. She wants me to add a windshield rain repellent treatment. I’m using Aquapel as a windshield treatment. My plan is to deep clean the windshield, clay, then polish. Lastly, apply the Aquapel. I already told her I would do a courtesy wash...

    Britemax Grimeout (literally) 50/50 photo

I used Britemax Grimeout on these seats at 9:1 dilution ratio. I used a Colorlock nylon brush for scrubbing. I had never used Grimeout on leather before, but it really worked wonders. I neutralized the Grimeout with water after cleaning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    2012 VW Tiguan

This car just needed some freshening up. I removed some tired vinyl pinstripes as well. The paint was in good condition for being 6 years old. I used HD Speed on orange LC CCS pads via Rupes 15 and Rupes Mini. I topped the Speed with Fusso Coat and actually think the paint lost clarity after...

    Ubiquitous Iron-X (bleeding paint) photos

Saturday, I was helping a friend with touching up his 2018 Ram that got a nasty, down to the metal parking lot scratch. He mentions to me his wife's Jeep Cherokee has some spots on the lift gate that have bothered her since she bought the vehicle. I told him they were some form of...

Semi tractor backed into me! My paint is thin, photos to prove it.

Took my Toyota Sienna to the local Walmart a week ago. I see a large, newer semi tractor (no trailer) parked perpendicular to the parking lines. The semi is parked facing toward the store. At the time thinking the semi will drive forward I park three stalls behind the semi. Leaving...

    New Rupes Mini

I just received my Rupes Mini purchased from Autogeek. I haven’t had a chance to use it yet. Really excited to try it out. I was impressed with the build quality, but wasn’t surprised as I already own a 15 Mark II. I came up with a new nickname for this polisher, Leadfoot:) Or in my case...

IDA podcast from Mobile Tech Expo (Link)

I spent 1 hour listening to a group of detailing giants talking about the IDA. Of course Mike Phillips was present. The IDA seems to have a group of genuinely nice guys in charge. Probably pretty damn good at detailing too. Worth watching/listening to. Normally I wouldn’t link to a...

    What are your TDS readings?

So I bought an inexpensive Total Disolved Solids (TDS) meter. It was cheap and I wanted to know where my water stood. My local water through a water softener is 136 ppm (parts per million). My outdoor spigots are using the treated water. Not that it matters in January in WI:) I tested the...

False Alarm: Ballistic Missile inbound to Hawaii

I cannot think of a worse feeling. In hindsight, TEOTWAWKI reaction of people would be interesting to study from an emergency management and planning standpoint. I’m guessing someone(s) will not be coming into their emergency management office(s) on Monday. If they do come in, they will not...

Low water volume pressure washers. Quick observations.

I made an observation that low volume pressure washers may not be adequate for rinsing vehicles. This could be due to the fact I was using a very low quality unit. At work we have a cheap pressure washer that I would guess is rated at 1-1.5 gpm. I noticed that after washing and rinsing the...

Opinion alert!! The greatest asset for the modern detailer.

Like the title suggests this is strictly my opinion and I'm confident that this has been said before. I believe the greatest asset for the modern detailer, especially someone starting out is the internet. The internet, including AGO, youtube, commercial retail detailing websites, has an almost...

    Pictures: Free! Dealer installed swirls:(

Earlier this year a co-worker got a 2009 Cadillac CTS. I told him that I would show him what a black car should look like. Long story short. I took around 2 hrs perfecting the driver's side quarter panel. If I remember correctly, I used Griots Garage correcting cream on a GG MF cutting pad...
