Iron cleaning products vs wheel cleaners?

I am trying to gauge which one sits higher or if there is one better than the other. For example I have both Brake Buster and CarPro IronX. Is IronX on it's own good enough as a cleaner for wheels? I know Sonax makes a wheel cleaner that changes color, is it exactly the same as CarPro or a...

    Carpro Inside vs Multi X

Hey I am slowly gravitating my detailing arsenal to Carpro and I just picked up Inside as my interior cleaner. I was still debating on either getting a APC that can be used inside, engine bay etc vs a interior only product but I stumbled onto Inside and ordered it before seeing CarPro MultiX...

    Questions about sealant choice

I used Jescar Powerlock for my base lsp and used the beadmaker as a drying aid/topper when drying my weekly washes but now I am looking at switching to opti seal to replace the powerlock. The reason is, while I like powerlock protection, it's just a pain to apply and pretty much impossible to...

Can you use PERL with Opti seal

I am switching my product regiment up a little bit and I'm replcaing my powerlock with some opti seal. I also learned opti seal can be applied to the interior but I planned to use PERL for that already. My question is you think I could lay the opti seal first (since it lasts longer) and then...

Should I clay before winter or after?

Hey so summer is over and I was thinking of refreshing my Powerlock+ before winter. Now I'm wondering if I should just apply a new coat without decontaminating the paint or I should IronX and clay. The reason I ask is because I always read some threads where people say clay as much as you want...

When is it acceptable to use a quick detailer?

Hey I'm going to a car show Saturday that's about 2 hours away by car. I would like to be there and my car be pretty spotless. The plan was to clean the car Friday night then park it in the garage until I'm ready to leave. And then when I arrive there, a quick detail around the car. Now my...

Need advice how to remove this overspray (I think) ?

Tried clay bar it doesn't come off, tried CarPro Tar-X it doesn't come off either. I tried one spot with fingernail to test and it does eventually comes off but I know that's not the safe way. Any other ideas? It's the little white spots by the way.

How strong is Carpro tar x? Damaged headlight coating

I had 1 step restored my headlights a while back and "sealed" it back with some Meguiar's headlight coating. Yesterday had loads of bugs on the car when I washed it so sprayed Car Pro Tar X and let sit about 2-3 minutes all on the front bumper and headlights and this seemed to have happened...

Is ceriglass by hand worth it?

I was wondering if you can remove swirls. I don't know what happened my windshield is like 1.5 year old and it's so bad when sun is out when looking at it. It was perfect not to long ago. I'm wondering if it's going to work just by hand to remove some of those or I am completely wasting my money?

Good polish and compound combo other than Meguiar's

I currently have the over counter Megs ultimate compound and polish and I'd like to get something a bit better because I feel like my result maybe aren't that good and looking for something more "boutique" I guess you can say. So I know Meguiar's D105 and D205 are really the top recommended but...

Are my wheels damaged or anyone knows what these marks are in the barrel?

I was doing my out of storage cleaning on my wheels before bringing them to tire shop and noticed one has all this kind of wear or lines in it? This is how it looks like fully cleaned. It seems like it's stained and something rubbed around or what? Talking about all the "dotting" rather than the...

Poor performance by optimum tire protection?

Hey so I applied some of this product on my winter tires before winter as a "test" because I only found out this product at the end of summer. I had applied 2 coats before winter around November and it looked great at first. Now it's almost end of winter and it's march and after cleaning my car...

Should I clean my undercarriage or no point

Hello folks, a bit long thread to give you guys/gals perspective. I have a 2011 BMW that I drive even in winters here in Canada. I'm not that worried about rust since my car is mainly made of aluminum, plastic and galvanized steel. Now some nuts and bolts thought that's another story. But. some...

ONR on salty cars - Question about drying

I'm slowly warming up to ONR but quickly got scared a little bit in the drying process. I'm using ONR with multiple microfibers that I do not re-introduce into bucket. Usually in summer a do a normal 2 bucket wash and soak my drying towel (Chemical Guys gray matter) in water and ring it out...

Unable to see paint swirl and scratch at home - any tips or tricks?

I was ready to make my paint look perfect and polish or compound as needed but at home with a bright flash light I couldn't even see the defects. I can clearly see them at a car meet at night for example with the street lamp shining on it. Am I going at it wrong. Do I need a less bright...

    Questions for a drying agent

Ok I've almost fully built my "regiment" of products for this year, mostly went with some Griot's stuff to try out as they seem like a stout brand and not crazy expensive. I used Sonax last year and while the Sonax name and "prestige" felt nice it did being more expensive and tbh not all their...

Looking for a product for a touch less wash

It's winter here and I try to rinse my car once a week at a coin wash. Just rinse it. I do not use their soap as I am afraid it will strip my current sealant and not be super great for the car. I started incorporating Optimum no rinse wash and wax as a pre-soak/touchless wash. It helps to clean...

Help - Looking for a product for my specefic needs

HellO I am really not sure what I need. Here is the situation. It is winter and I started doing weekly/bi-weekly rinses at a manual car wash (my water is frozen at home outside in winter) to remove the dirty grime and salt but water itself doesn't seem to do much. So I kind of would like to do...

Does who do mobile detailing - How do you make it so it's not sunny?

So you know the saying.. you shouldn't detail cars in sun. Does that mean you try to schedule clients with what the weather shows if they don't have a carport or garage?
