    Advanced Auto-spotted

So last year or maybe even two years ago, Advanced started carrying Surf City products. Yesterday, I stop in to pick up a couple things and I see this!

    Tough situation-can this be fixed?

So I bought this VW used a couple weeks ago. I like most of what it had to offer with the exception of the carbon fiber and a large decal representing APR (a well known Audi/VW performance company). The decal was a nice piece of work but I prefer the clean look. I wasn't sure how to get it off...

    Carbon Fiber

Just picked up this used VW GLI (APR stage 3+) last week. Carbon Fiber hood and trunk that was heavily oxidized. Haven't got to the trunk yet but did the hood over the weekend. spot sanded using 2500 grit and ONR QD PC7424 3.5" BP M105 with orange and yellow 4 inch (2 passes) M205 with white...

    Mix 105 with Poli-Seal?

I love mixing products! Anyone ever try M105 mixed with Poli-seal? With the right process M105 can finish down nicely, even on darker colored cars. For a beefed up AIO, what do you folks think about mixing 105 and PS either 50/50 or maybe less 105 and more PS like 80/20?

    Weekend Warrior: 2002 Mazda Tribune

This tribune is about to sold/traded as down payment. With nearly 90k miles, a CEL, a recent rebuilt tranny and other signs of down right neglect - the least I could do was shine it up a bit. I'm sure the car will go right to wholesale but cleaning it up will give the owner a little peace of...

    Just got my order!

Nothing better than than hearing the rumbling bumbling sound of Brown chugging down my street! Thanks Dwayne for taking care of my order and big thanks to Santa Max and the entire AG staff for running the Christmas giveaway. As I promised in my letter to Santa Max, I'm sharing some nice items in...

    2008 Honda Accord Sedan-1 stepper

Over the Holidays I managed to knock out a couple details. I only captured a couple pics of this one which is an 08 Honda Accord Sedan in the Gunmetal color. It's a basic model on its 2nd owner. Looked to pretty well kept on the inside but daily driven and parked under a hideus tree that spews...

Product Review: DP Rinseless Wash & Gloss

Long time ONR user and loyalist - I've been wanting to try the DP Rinsless Wash and Gloss for a while, especially after seeing all the other positive remarks about the Wash and Gloss and all the other DP products offered. I haven't tried the DP as clay lube or QD but I'm glad to see that this...

    Product Review: DP Wheel Glaze

Detailer's Pride products are taking up more room on my shelf. The manufacturer claims that this product, DP Wheel Glaze repels brake dust. After my first use, I can safely claim that this product will also not collect shelf dust either. DP Wheel Glaze is a cleaner and a polymer sealant that...

    Review of Optimum Opti-seal

This is my review of a wonderful wipe on walk away sealant-Optimum Opti-Seal. I purchased this product along with a few other Optimum products but my expectations weren't very high. I thought for the price well I could find some use for it. Now, several applications later (bottle still over 3/4...

    4:1 Fc&s+dgaw

Recently when I was praising Duragloss Fast Clean & Shine, somebody suggested mixing up a bottle with a shot of Aqua-Wax. I had a fresh bottle of AW and just the right amount left in my old bottle to mix up 5 oz of AW with about 20 oz of FC&S. HOLY COW!!! :righton:Don't get me wrong I like OID...

    06 Jetta 1 stepper...nasty

Recently, we discussed in a thread I started regarding the length of time spent on a 1 step and how it still takes quite a bit of time but usually resulting in charging a smaller fee. It’s partly my own fault that I end up doing these types of details and I think mentally, I just know I’m up...

    PFW vs. Orange foam

I've got a tough job coming up this weekend on black VW paint. I need full correction (paint doesn't look too bad) and I'll be using a PC. My question is-will I be better off using the 4" PFW ( i have 3) or should I stock up on some 4" orange pads? The only 4" orange I have are those cheaper...

    nooks and crannys

ok, so it's obvious that we all have OCD when it comes to cleaning cars. let's get that out of the way. I got to wondering today how to be more effective when doing detailing for $$ and one of the things that pops up in my mind is how long it actually takes to wash the vehicle. Now when I say...

    Winter GTI cleanup

Ok well winter in Florida just means a day of rain followed by a couple cooler days. With rain on Thursday, that almost always means a few days of sun. I decided to take Friday off of work to give my own car some TLC for a change. My Collinite 845IW has been holding strong since late...

    need help on an order

Hey folks-I need to replenish my pad supply (PC user). I've used pad sizes from 4" to 6.5. I realize the 4 inchers will be more effective but being that I am on a budget, I'm struggling between the 2 pad kits on here that are both 49.99 but one has 4" pads and the 5.5" pads. they both come with...

    1st engine detail

Ok, you guys were right once again. I've heard so much about CD2 engine detailer and even spotted it a couple times at my local Auto-Zone but always passed it up. I typically don't make a big fuss or try to up-sell engine detailing because let's face it-the rest of the job is draining enough...

    01 Trailblazer

Friend of mine was seeking services on his 2001 Trailblazer (105k miles). He's a bit frugal (can't blame him) so a 1 step was in order. His biggest concern was the interior so the paint just needed gloss restored. Only claying was some areas that had some sap. I wasn't crazy about the lube that...

    "oh that's normal"

So I'm at Target the other night and my brother in-law calls me on my cell: "hey man, I'm up here at Car Max looking at this Passat. The headlights are real foggy!! The salesman says that this is normal and there is nothing you can do about it." me-Dude If you like the car buy it. So he...
