    VW B-Pillars

You don't need too, applying PPF to them will make them look perfect and with self-healing film they will stay looking perfect.

    Reliable Electric pressure washers

The Kranzel are excellent units, no doubt about that. I just couldn't justify paying almost twice as much for a less powerful unit. I did purchase a 50' hose and went with a 1/4" simply because that's what the unit comes with. I wasn't sure how a 3/8" hose would effect performance, though I...

    Reliable Electric pressure washers

I have no way to test the manufactures specs, but I can say it blows away the cheap box store electric units, though it does have less pressure then a lot of the larger gas powered units. Pressure Washers Direct has it rated at 3990 cleaning units, which is higher than the $1900 Kranzel K499TST...

What is the point of a ceramic coating if you have to maintain it?

Technically, all you have to do is wash it properly, regularly, and maybe do an annual or bi-annual decon to remove tar, iron fallout, and other bonded contaminants. You don't "need" to use a topper, but most do as it adds slickness, gloss, boosts protection, and can restore hydrophobic...

    Reliable Electric pressure washers

Yes, I've had it since August of 2016. Excellent power at 2.1GPM and 1900psi (which can be dialed down) and I've had no issues thus far. I did buy a longer hose and different wand (flexible) with quick connects. Ordered everything from PWMall.com.

    Q: ceramic over xpel...overkill?

It can cause bonding issues and most film manufactures won't warranty it if it lifts when the paint has been coated. I've seen plenty of installers say they've had issues with it too, though I think it's going to be more of an issue with coatings that leave the paint feeling slick to the touch.

    Q: ceramic over xpel...overkill?

Well, the cost for a full PPF job on a car is going to run $5000+ depending on the vehicle and location. The cost to also apply a coating is going to come down to the installer and whether or not it's a consumer coating or a Pro coating. Most pro coatings will carry a MAP pricing which includes...

    Q: ceramic over xpel...overkill?

I've been applying ceramic coatings to PPF for 9 year now without issue and the benefits have been very clear. Most notably is the increased resistance to staining and etching from bugs and bird poo. Polishing prior to applying the film IMO isn't really necessary as the film will hide swirls...

Help me plan a routine for keeping hard water spots off brand new vehicle.

Without removing the cause of the issue I'm not sure there is a good solution. Finding a wax, sealant, or coating that makes water lay flat and sheet vs. bead would be the only thing I would suggest. Water beads = spots.

Drying towels: is the PFM by Griot's still the best?

I've found this to happen as well!

Drying towels: is the PFM by Griot's still the best?

I've been using the PFM drying towels for over 3 years now and I've never once had to wring one out. I can easily dry my full size Ram 1500 with one PFM towel and still have enough left in it do dry most of my wife's car after it too. They absorb water unlike any other style of drying towel I've...
