can i go straight to a sealant after I clay?

Hey guys just recently purchased a 2010 Acura TL in Polished Metal Mettalic color. I plan on giving it a good wash and clay. What do you guys reccomend I use for a cleaner/wax that I can do by hand. I am not ready to use a porter cable yet on it. thanks!!

I bought the cockpit premium but when I used it on my older ford escape it took the finish right off the center bezel around the radio, climate etc..... Im hesitant to use it on my new Acura. I have no clue why it did that? Sorry to hijack the thread.

Yes, I have the last 4 items in that pic with the exception of ultra paint polish. Id hate to waste them if I already have them!

Climate is very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. If I clay can I go straight to a wax or sealant or should I use a paint cleaner like p21s or pinnacle?

I will just be cleaning the pad on the fly as Mike Phillips reccomends. I just bought a few pads for my 08 Civic that I will trying to detail. I am scared to try it now! I bought a ccs white and ccs gray, I figured those were gentle for the Honda.

So after each section that I try to polish, do I reapply more product on the pad, Im afraid that I will saturate it too much. I have been watching the videos and if I break down the hood say into 4 sections, after each section should I apply a X bead on the pad everytime? Sorry If I am posting...

No its a Meguairs polishing pad, yes Im assuming its clearcoated since it was repaired at a normal body shop a few years back when I had an accident.

typically how many pads would I use to do one car? If I clean the pad on the fly can I use the same pad for one step or do I need multiple?
