    Inspection Light

How do you like it? Have you ever compared it side by side with a TK10?

have some questions on my progress

Generally speaking, you get the defects out with SIP, and then refine the finish with Nano. So I'd do another pass with the orange pad again, and then go to white with Nano, or if the paint isn't really hazy, use a grey or blue pad. Asphalt, a clean white car does look pretty amazing, but a...

have some questions on my progress

I might have to pick up another polish (Menz PO87MC) to finish with then. Every time I come on this forum, I find ANOTHER thing to buy! First I bought Power Finish, then SIP/Nano, and next a jewling polish. Also, quick story here. When I was shopping for my current car, the dealer had two...

    Inspection Light

First time I saw a detailer using that light, I was like why is a car detailer using a tactical LED flashlight?! Now I see why. :D

have some questions on my progress

Sorry to hijack, but would it be alright to start with SIP on a white pad, and then finish with Nano on a blue pad, or would that not remove all of the hazing from SIP?

    Inspection Light

Just do a Google search, it should pull something up. It's not really a detailing-specific light, but it's easy enough to find online.

Out of curiosity, why is the Fenix LED better than other LED lights?

    Inspection Light

The Infratech CM5300 is pretty popular. It was actually created for body shops to judge how well they matched paint on resprays. Excellent detailing tool.

    PC 7424 or Flex

Well yes, but I'd assume that most people looking to make their first buffer purchase haven't spent much time with a machine. That's why I assumed that a rotary was out of the question.

    PC 7424 or Flex

I DEFINITELY wouldn't start with a rotary, no matter how careful you think you'll be with it. Get familiar and comfortable with a PC or Flex, then step up to a rotary if you still need more correction power.

    PC 7424 or Flex

Just like Meghan said, I bought a PC about 2 months ago, and I already want to upgrade to the Flex. Flex just has so much more correction power, and it's more comfortable to use.

    How Much Polish to Use?

Are you using Swissvax or what?! I've got Souveran paste and Fuzion, and I blew half my budget on those two alone.

    How Much Polish to Use?

I might have to pick up a bottle of that too. Haha I've spent almost $600 in the last month on car stuff.

    Menzerna Powerfinish, or Megs M205?

Actually, I'd consider it a finishing polish. It has about as much cut as IP, but doesn't leave the paint looking hazy.

What do you mean by OP? Optimum polish?

    How Much Polish to Use?

Excellent! I'll have to try that sometime this week on my dad's black Jetta TDI. Thanks for the help!

    How Much Polish to Use?

I've found that with Menzerna Powerfinish, it doesn't require near that much, but I get dusting pretty quickly. Does that mean that I'm not using enough? I've also overapplied the polish before, and it doesn't seem like it ever gets worked in enough to get hazy like that. I'm just trying to...

    Menzerna Powerfinish, or Megs M205?

Because it has a nice cut but still burnishes the paint nicely. It's like a finishing polish on steroids.
