    Si02 topper

Hey Mike, Can Gtechniq c2v3 or Opti-Seal sprays be used to top Wolfgang Si02 Paint Sealant or can they be used as a drying aid?

    Recommendations for quick detailer

FK425 is my go-to detailer. Plenty of lubricant to protect against abrasion. Excellent finish and shine. Better than Meguiars.

    3401 . . . what pads are you using?

I've used the LC 6.5 flat and the Kompressor 6". The basic flat pads have done a great job on my car. However, the Kompressor, which I've used with glaze only, has more flexibility, particularly over curved surfaces.

    Favorite all in one/APC?

I've just started using Meg's APC and I'm happy with the results. Strong enough to take off the grime but doesn't damage plastic parts I've tried so far.

    Older car can shine too!

Thanks for your replies! It has always been garaged and washed frequently, but just with Palmolive liquid or inexpensive car wash then finally, with Eagle One Wet car wash, which was very good, and had only been waxed a few times over the years with Turtle wax. It was never detailed, never...

    Older car can shine too!

Here's my 1998 Eddie Bauer Explorer. Couldn't do "before" shots this time. But here's the finished result. Sequence: Pinnacle Fine Clay>Using Flex 3401, LC flat white pad-Menzerna PO106FF>IPA>LC flat white pad-Menz 85RD>IPA>LC flat black pad-RMG>Souveran paste by hand, then subsequent hand...

    One Step Detail

I used Menzerna PO106FA followed by Menzerna PO85RD for polishing. Then I used ClearKote's Red Moose Glaze and topped it with Souveran 100% carnauba paste. I particularly wanted combinations that worked on red, and these did well. It's a lot more than one step, but that's what I used.

    Bug Squash

Mike---thanks for the picture by picture on effective and safe bug removal. Learned a lesson a long time ago with a new Mercedes, black clearcoat finish and bird droppings. I was on a weekend vacation and when I got back and found the droppings, they had already etched deeply into the surface...

    Flex felt ring question

I received my Flex 3401 about a month ago. I called Powerhouse Distributing, the distributor and authorized service center in Omaha to inquire about lubricating the felt ring. They said that they weren't experiencing problems anymore, but it would still make sense to place a few drops of Air...

Any advice on gray matte grille

Like KAIO? This finish seems very susceptible to etching or staining; i.e. there are currently water etchings. But the KAIO plus a sealer makes sense. Thanks!

Any advice on gray matte grille

Does anybody have any information on cleaning and protecting the matte gray center section of my 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer grille? I believe that it is plastic, as is the chrome portion of the grille. Thanks.

    Fear To Flex

That BBQ---when it's a good cut of meat, it's hog heaven! And it usually is a good cut of meat. 1) RMG is ClearKote's Red Moose Glaze. 2) Based on Lake Country's specifications as shown on their own website. I've provided two links below which I have found useful. Best of luck...

    Fear To Flex

I have used my Flex 3401 successfully with PO85RD, topped with RMG and Souveran. No swirls, good depth and shine. PO85RD is a final polish without much cutting. Important to use a finishing or finessing pad, a 12, 11 or 10 rather than a more aggressive pad.

    Favorite pads for Flex?

Thanks. I've read some about these. I understand that they now make a backing plate that will fit the 3401.
