    Removing Polish Spatter

Prewax cleaner works. Or what I do is if it's a very small spots here and there I will hit it again with the same pad I used the product it (so it leftover product still moist in the pad) break the splatter loose, and then IPA it away or simply buff with a MF towel.

    What's up with these pads?

I have done many repainted panels.. one car RIGHT out of the paint booth that was black and it did not turn any of my pads any color. Unless they just used single stage paint during the repaint and not a modern clear coat. It's a 07 car.. very unlikely.

    What's up with these pads?

Did you buff over exterior trim? Either rubber or plastic... that will make your pads black.

Need serious help with my pricing!

Oh, here is my gallery btw. I only do sports/performance cars. Being a vette owner myself, I have done a TON of vettes but didn't take any pics cause they get redundant. EpicDetailing's Photos

Need serious help with my pricing!

I have never finished a multi-step polish in 3-4 hours.. maybe I am doing something wrong but 3-4 hours is what it takes me to do the first compound. For a 2 step polish, wash, clay, wax/sealant, etc it takes me about 5-7 hours depending on the car. I charge $250-ish and I get that NO PROBLEM...

    ipa wipedown

I tend to have trouble getting the IPA to come off completely with 1-2 wipes, so I generally spray the IPA onto a towel, wipe, then take another towel and wipe so I can get a clear look at the correction. I have found this works better for me rather than spraying the IPA directly onto the paint.

    Polishing Problems

I have ran into this problem a few times with different cars and different panels. My solution has been using my 2nd step (i.e. if I used 105 I'll follow up with 205). 105 with the yellow pad is pretty aggressive.. any time I use the yellow pad I immediately follow up with the 2nd polish...

Any have a Springfield Armory XDm?

I have XDM .40 and have shot about 1000 thru it no problem. Very light, accurate, and easy to handle. It does not have a traditional safety though, only a double trigger and a grip safety. Just something to look out for if you were interested.

    Camaro Clear and my take...

Beautiful Results Mike! I have done 3 black 2010 Camaros and I use that exact same combo you do, Wolfgang's TSR and Finishing Glaze. I do not have a rotary, just a Flex and a PC and to get rid of the harsher marks. Recently I had a client come back to me after getting a new bumper. They...

Body shop messed up this 2010 Camaro.. and I fixed it!

I had detailed this camaro back in Febuary, and recently he had a SUV back into his front bumper, so he took it to a Chevy Dealership to get it fixed. Well they fixed it.. and he told them specifically not to touch the rest of the car since he had it detailed. Well.. of course they had to cut...

    Applying a finishing polish?

Mike, I just started detailing cars recently back in Febuary, so with only 2 months of experience, I am still an amateur but I have done over 30 cars and I only do this part-time, but the most important process I have learned is the test spot. At first I just skimmed through Mike's post about...

How Do Ya Make White Shine

Maybe I am doing something wrong but I simply cannot get Liquid Souveran to come off easily. I have tried it on 5 different vehicles, 3 different methods. By hand or polisher, and from immediately wiping off after application, to waiting a few minutes, to waiting an hour to wipe off, I get the...

    Cleaning Glass

What do you guys use for cleaning glass? I have Diamonite's Perfect Vision and it works great, but I cannot get the embedded dirt, oils, etc etched into the glass to come out. I see there is clay for glass but is it the same clay you use on your paint or what? I tried claying a section of...

Pics of my personal car, 4 months after detail

I noticed that I never had any pictures of my personal car, only alot of pictures of customers cars haha. I detailed mine back in January, which was 4 months ago, last coat of wax applied 2 months ago and these pictures are after an Optimum No Rinse wash. This was taken around 6pm so the sun...

5 Polishes Compounds you can't live without

Meg's 105/205 for sure. Menzerna 85rd.. I used it for the first time on my car and wow it does finish nicely after the meg combo. But I have to ask.. I have not used Menzerna's SIP/Nano/106FF (btw I cannot find 106FA.. am I searching for something wrong?) is it that much better? I do have...

I tried Wolfgang Fuzion Wax... wow what a finish!

It started raining on me JUST as I finished the last panel... so I quickly pulled it into the garage and wiped it down. Then it was cloudy the rest of the day so I was going to wait until it cleared up. Well.. we got tornadoes in OK so we're getting the backwash... looks like we won't get...

PCXP, any tips/tricks for removing heavy oxidation/swirls?

Mike, thank you for the response you are always so helpful and I learned alot in that thread. It's funny cause I read it once before but it didn't register with me until just now LOL. Then I must have been mistaken, what I was seeing yesterday when I was doing a 2004 Lexus, were many dark...
