    Polishing problems

You are either not working the polish in good enough or you are using too much. What polish are you using? I typically find that if the chemical I am using is hard to remove is because I haven't worked the chemical in good enough.

Which aggressive choice do you make?

Thanks! I just finished a silver GT500 and I washed and clayed. For the defect removal I used Ultimate Compound (waiting for M105 to come in) on a rotary with a wool pad. The cut was awsome. I then went over with M205 and it was an awsome finish. Are you guys only using rotary instead of...

Which aggressive choice do you make?

Well like the other day . . . I was working on a 2006 Ford Expedition black in color. Had mild/moderate scratches and swirl marks. After washing and claying, I used LC orange light cutting pad with Ultimate Compound on a rotary buffer. I then would use M205 on a polishing pad with the...

Newbie with new swirled black Denali

I am new to the forum also, but have learned alot from here. I can't answer all of your questions but give you some insight on some. Why not go ahead and take the swirls out? It's not as bad as you might think. Everyone has their brand, but I would suggest Swirlx with a light cutting pad or...

    Advice/Suggestions with my detailing work . . .

Wow again thanks. . . . It's all coming together now. Really helping so much!! If you are looking for just a nice shiny paint job - then going with a wash, clay, and cleaner/wax is all you need; however swirl marks and light scratches will still be there. If you are looking for a nice shiny...

    Advice/Suggestions with my detailing work . . .

Ok, I would consider myself getting into the advanced levels of detailing. I'm comfortable using my G220, and just recently picked up a rotary. (all the following is with Meguiars products) Once I get a job to do, I'll inspect the paint. After a good wash and dry, I'll clay the car. If there...
