    Bug removal

Yes, I do clay the vehichle also. The clay usually gets off most of pieces of the bugs that you can feel with your hand. But I am referring to the the ones that seem to be in the clear coat , you cant feel them but you see the faded spot where they were.

    Bug removal

Any tips or suggestions on bug removal. I have tried many different products, and most can get bugs that are fairly fresh off, but cant seem to get those that seem to be baked into the clearcoat. I have tried a more aggressive polish/pad combo, but not much luck. Thanks for any help you guys can...

    claying..

oh, gotcha, like I mentionea earlier, i have been using just water from my water hose to clay with, and it seems to work just as good as detail lube. or I will mix a small spray bottle of water and a little liquid soap.

    claying..

What are you referring to that would cause the marring ? Claying after washing or using water only as a lube ?

I always clay right after washing. I just the wate hose instead of detailing lube. Saves money and never had any problems with just using water.

    application of dr.color chip question

I have a customer with a few scratches on his car from being keyed. They are on average about a foot long or so. I have never used the dr. color chip system before and wondering if one kit would be enough to do that many scratches. It only says its enough to cover about 2 dozen paint chips, but...

    Is this clear coat cracking?

Yep..definatley clearcoat failure. I detailed a Jaguar (black also) a couple of months ago. Had crows feet all over the hood. I tried to explain to him it was clearcoat failure, but he wouldnt believe me. So now he has shiney black car with tiny cracks all over it !

clayed the car for the first time the other day...

I find just using the water hose to lubricate while claying after I wash works just as well any spray lube....alot cheaper also ! Or just make a mixture of any liquid soap and water works great as well.

Lately my 7424 has been bogging down with very little pressure. I've only had it for about a year and half. I dont do detailing full time, so it doesnt really have alot of hours on it. Any idea what the problem might be ?
