    Claying headlights before polishing?

You absolutely needed to sand those. A cute, little polishing kit will be a waste of time. Corvettes are pretty much in a class of their own. Good practice and hands on experience for you though.

    Harbor Freight Tool Box

Check out Strictly Toolboxes line? They have great reviews. I have a large box for my FT job and it holds all my heavy tools without any issues. Pretty heavy gauge steel and drawer slides for the price if you're looking for a good investment that won't break the bank.

Facebook users start "like"ing our pages

Sorry, but this is incorrect. Your like won't count if doing it from a business "sub page". You have to either like it from your personal profile, or a separate account you've created using just your business name. I get notifications from businesses liking my page, but my Like count does not...

    Setting your polisher down

I just set it down pad-first. What's the big deal? KIDDING! I typically have my extension cord reel nearby. I set it down on its side and let the pad hang off the edge of the reel, if it's a small pad. If it's larger, I can fit it in the center of the reel opening at an angle and it will be pad...

Rupes Ibrid Nano Paint Correction 50/50 Pictures

I wish they offered a non-rechargeable model without the kit. Big props to their marketing team, but I can't spend that much on a bundle. I'd rather piece the polishes/compounds myself (or use what I currently have) and go without paying for the battery technology or battery replacement.

    DLUX on headlights

Temp was definitely too low for anything to cure

Absolutely. Unlike clear coat, there's enough plastic material (thickness) to work with more times than paint correction.

My thoughts exactly. You have an average of at least 2-3 years left on the OEM coating, depending on UV exposure. That's better than most coatings out there.

Here's a few more recent jobs. The Corvette takes the cake on difficulty level. The (or a) previous owner tried refinishing them himself. Realized they couldn't get through the OEM coating so they left behind failed coating and scratches. Then they applied a heavy coat of clear with runs and...

Made in China Vs made in Italy = 2 broken Boss 21

Wow, I had considered picking up a nicer GG but this reaffirms keeping my GG6. Sorry you had to deal with TWO issues on machines having so few hours. My GG6 has been going at it for about 4 years with many, many hours. Only issue I had was the cord developing a broken wire inside. Instead of...

    Clearcoating Headlights

I've had good luck with OL. For clear coating, I think 2000 is more appropriate. 800 is WAY too rough.

Wow, thanks for the effort in comparing all of these. I only have some 845 but definitely open to picking up some of the WG stuff in the future. Looking forward to more updates!

    Scuff on new headlight cover

Definitely don't sand it. Try some polish on a foam pad by hand. If not, some compound/pad then polish/pad.
