    My Flex is acting funny..

StuDLei, I have two FLEX 3401's and recently posted a thread about the problems I've been having with them - both crashing on the same day. From my experience there is a lot of over speculation about the power issue with extension cords and home electric outlets. After taking my FLEX's to an...

    Both my Flex 3401's broke.

Since the 3401 is my go to tool, I do put some miles on them. I would guess that I probably use them on the high end but not excessive. I've been using Flex for about 4 years and really didn't have problems until a year ago when the trigger, speed knob and cord connection broke. The best way to...

    Both my Flex 3401's broke.

Both my main and spare Flex 3401's crapped out on me yesterday while doing paint correction job on a black Chrysler. On my primary the trigger is stuck and on the other I'm pretty sure it's the cord. My primary Flex is right at a year old and should be still under warranty. The back-up Flex I...

Nano Skin Vs Speedy Prep Towel

I bought two Nano Skin 6" pads and have used them on about 10 cars so far. We use it with the Flex 3401 and it definitely cuts down on the work time. We've cut 30-40 minutes off our clay times. It especially comes in handy on large SUVs. Those are PROs. The CONs are that it does mar soft paints...

Going to take a little work but decent shop.

Absolutely! It took me a solid year to get the lighting in my shop to be up to par. I spent a lot of money on a cool lobby and other creature comforts first but in hindsight I would spend money on the work area first and then the other stuff. Here's a warning...building a shop is a money pit...

    It's T-shirt time!

Nice. The most important thing to remember about t- shirts is to make the logo legible and the design memorable. Good work!

Hi Def Auto Detail - Black 2006 Range Rover Paint Correction

We recently did a paint correction detail on a Black 2006 Range Rover. The owner was a hardcore drive-thru tunnel wash user since purchasing the vehicle. Since the owner liked his cars clean and shiny all the time, he thought it'd be a good idea to buy the unlimited car wash voucher from the...

Hi Def Auto Detail Headlight Restoration

Stephan, Actually it's called CrystalView and I have been using it since 2008 and I have not had one job come back. I did use Opti-Seal on a few jobs some time a go, no negative side effects there either. Thus my estimation would be that most any modern nano-sealant will perform well in most...

Hi Def Auto Detail Headlight Restoration

Hello, This 98' MB E-Class was in serious need of a headlight restoration. The owner works next door to my shop so I see the car all the time and night you can barely tell he had headlights on. So I talked to him about the benefits of headlight restoration and he decided to give it try over...

Honda S2000 Paint Correction - Hi Def Detail Style!

This Honda S2K came into my shop for an exterior detail. After interviewing the client I found out that car had just been "detailed" by the local "Quickie Wash". But he wasn't satisfied with the results. A quick walk around the vehicle revealed significant amounts of marring and swirling all...

    Waterless =/= Rinseless

As a marketer and user of "waterless" car wash I think it's truly the way to maintain your car regardless of water restrictions or not. Because it's so versatile. Technically, the main ingredient of "waterless" is water though! At my shop we measure our water usage in ounces not gallons.
