They are filled with the product still. If you press as you would to kind of squeegee out water after washing you can fill the wax type polymer left in the microfiber. Basically like there is wax left on the pad.

Yeah it does have the ability to come off. I just wasnt sure if it would ruin the "stuff" in the duster that ....helps...it dust... Thanks. And i would assume cold water maybe?
