Sounds like you are talking about pin stripes. If so, 3m makes an eraser wheel that you put into a cordless drill, this will take the pinstripe right off.

An electric leaf blower is a lot cheaper.

I use the same method as I do for headlights. I sand off all the factory coating and use spar urethane method.

I used ucoatit in my shop. It is very durable.no worries about hot tire pick up.
