    New Optimum MF Pads

Used the new pads yesterday for the first time. We did half of a black 2005 mazda rx-8. The paint was in really bad shape. Used d300 and d301 in the normal manner. The cut pad seemed to do a better job than the meguiars on defect removal. On flat surfaces it looked to finish nicely. On the...

    New Optimum MF Pads

what would that difference be? we use the mf system constatnly, maily doing hondas, hazing is a problem on the hondas. can one expect the optimum pads to perform any differently? I have 2 of the original polish pads from optimum and they work just fine. They do seem more durable.

    Best AIO polish

we do a ton of one step, and use the new mf system for cars that need more correction. since using this system we have pretty much phased out the foam pads and tend to always go the the microfiber pads. depending on the desired defect removal we will use any combination of mf finish or cut pads...

07 Honda Pilot door pillar question

we deal with hondas everyday, sometimes the trim is stained from degreaser/prep solutions. we buff it out, have good luck with d301 finish wax. If it is actual paint missing than painting is the cure. like mentioned before Sems makes a good trim paint in a rattle can. HTH

If you could only have ONE DA...which one?

we have 2 griots, new meg and sold the flex. griots have been trouble free going on 6 months of everyday use. megs g110v2 is only a month old. the cruise control makes it every bit as powerful as the griots, in fact prefer it with the mf system since you dont have to bump the speed up to...

mf pad and mf backing plate melt down

thanks Mike, yes we are definitely pushing the limits of this technology. Probably should get out the rotary but the new mf-da system is so much easier to deal with. No splatter, dusting, taping off.....after the first couple pad failures we pretty much found how far we could push it and what...

mf pad and mf backing plate melt down

the cruise control feature works good. the g110v2 has is much louder than the griot, at least mine is. kind of a high pitched whine. anyone else notice this?

mf pad and mf backing plate melt down

Heavily scratched black saturn suv. used mf/da system. had an opportunity in several areas to try the edge method mentioned in a post recently. the edge method worked great. car turned out great but required extreme pressure, especially on the hood. After finishing cutting the hood, slid down to...

When doing a one step, what would you do in this situation?

we've tried that combo on several cars. dark hondas are tough to use that on for the very reasons you pointed out. the orange buff and shine would have been the best choice. I'd be interested in what techniques you used to try to finish out the d151 with the mf. kbm method or d301/mf method as...

    Cannot remove swirls/water marks/ scratches

we use the griot and mf system everyday, 75% of the cars are hondas. speed 4.5 with d300, heavy pressure and slow the arm speed until the desired defect removal is achieved, sometimes you have to be real slow with arm speed but it is possible. clean the pad and do some slower speed less pressure...

    Porter cable buffer swirls

In my experience as a general rule. flat pads of that age are most likely far more aggressive than they once were. AIO needs following if anything more than heavy polish pad is used and on dark cars that at times creates haze... if we have to follow a one step making it no longer a one step...

    Meg's DA Microfiber Correction System

too many variables with the different types of paint for clear cut answers. If your car is in that good of condition you dont need the mf system. the flex does not do well with mf discs. 5" pads on your old pc will be very capable of taking care of your vehicle if it is just micro marring you...

    Meg's DA Microfiber Correction System

i have a silver pilot, it didnt need correcting but I wanted to see what I could do. Since I didnt have to correct much the d300 finished out very well so the d301 finish wax got it to sparkle. I used the finish wax on all the trim, and mudflaps to see if it would stain. It did not. I use air...

    Meg's DA Microfiber Correction System

it is an outstanding system. we use it everyday. d300 with the mf disc and on softer paint a foam pad. some paint does well with the finish disc, some needs foam to finish. we use the d301 finish wax as a one step application on minor swirled cars with foam or the mf disc and we use it on new...

Meg's MF Finishing pad and was leaving swirls

I've done about 40 cars with the new system and found the finish step to create a haze most of the time. The haze is most visible on the rounded surfaces, like above the windows. I had better results with the 301 and finish pad using low speed, low arm speed and more pressure. I rarely use that...

uber pads, is the orange same foam as hydrotech?

I have not used buff and shine pads. There are threads suggesting many of these pads are made at the same plant with different labels on the backing. I do know the orange uber pads do a wonderful job of one step polishing and are more durable than the hydrotech. I have been able to do more cars...

uber pads, is the orange same foam as hydrotech?

Yeah, the orange uber pad is a different foam than the other uber pads. Looks to be the same euro foam used on the hydrotech. was hoping someone had more experience than I do with these and was willing to share. thanks
