I have the 6" DA Polisher and my dad was wondering if he could borrow it to sand our flooring. Is it possible to do as such? If yes, is there a compatible backing plate + sander available to bought out there?

If I still have a visible scratch then can't be corrected with a 1000 grit, is it safe to go lower than that? Or is it true that anything below 1000 can cut through the clearcoat, which obviously isn't a good idea?

Yes you're right! I meant hard plastic. It's a textured hard plastic. Are you saying that all I need to do is heat it up and it will correct by itself?
