"safe scrub" bug & tar pads on entire vehicle (for wax prep)

What's up everyone? I wanted to get opinions on this because I was in a jam the other night, and wound up using my trusty "yellow bug pad" on my entire car, from top to bottom... and I wound up pretty impressed with the results! What happened was that my 1 year old went to bed nice n early...

    Help with interior leather please?

Ugh... bummer to hear, but I appreciate all the feedback. Luckily, these spots don't stand out too badly - it's just my picky eyes that see them ALL the time. Of course it bugs me that I didn't reconsider before I swapped these seats into my car, but I still LOVE the colour change. And, I...

    Help with interior leather please?

Eldorado - Ouch... those pics of yours look like some harsh damage done with that steamer!! In regards to my seats though, I don't think it's a matter of getting those spots OFF, as the spots themselves are already something that's worn off. I think it's more about adding that missing layer...

    Help with interior leather please?

It's an '06 Caddy CTS-V... figuring you might recognize it judging by your avatar :xyxthumbs: I've got some pictures of her posted in another thread around here from a few years ago when I did my first "correction".

    Help with interior leather please?

Hi guys and girls, Long story short, I recently swapped my original light gray seats for black ones out of a parts car that I had access to (exact same OEM seats, just different colours). I'd always wanted the contrast of black seats on the gray carpet and door panels, etc. The trouble is, I...

    Over-applied Collinite 845, can't remove haze. Help?

Oh man, I hope it doesn't take an entire compounding to get rid of this stuff!! I LOVE the product, but I'd never use it again if that was the case. Just for fear of user error - over-applying - again. lol Thanks for the links. It didn't take long to come across a few posts from Mr...

    Over-applied Collinite 845, can't remove haze. Help?

Hmm..."paint cleaner" is a new one to me. I'll look some up. I should also mention I tried a quick detailer, which didn't get rid of the haze either.

    Over-applied Collinite 845, can't remove haze. Help?

Hi guys and girls, I've applied Collinite 845 a few times without issue, but this year seems to be a little different. I'm pretty sure I over-applied the stuff, and this has resulted in a "haze" on most of my car since the beginning of the summer. Yes, there are some swirls and other minor...

Removing haze left behind after col. 845 application

Thanks for the suggestions jjj. Maybe I'll look into a wax free QD and see how that does. If its still hazy after that I guess I'll have to look into something with a little cut in it, like that Pinnacle stuff. On that note, would I be able to just use the Meg's DA MF finishing wax and finishing...

Removing haze left behind after col. 845 application

Again, I'm not faulting the product AT ALL. I know it was user error and I take full responsibility. I don't have any IPA's, which was why I was thinking maybe a dish soap wash. Maybe I'll put an order in for a wax remover / IPA and try that.

Removing haze left behind after col. 845 application

I didn't say there was a problem with the Collinite. I said I made mistakes. This is most definitely a haze ON the paint surface, not a dull finish. The finish looked fine after the clay bar and drying.

Removing haze left behind after col. 845 application

Hey guys and girls. Hope everyone's summer has been going great. I have a question about Collinite 845. I washed, clay barred, then applied 845 a few weeks ago, and I will admit to making a few mistakes (I was in a bit of a rush). One mistake was that I likely applied a bit too much product...

Megs MF system: had great results in the fall, want to spruce it up post-winter

Thanks for the input so far. The car wasn't exactly "beat up" all winter, as we only had a couple snowfalls and it was somewhat mild. They did put salt down a good number of times though, and my area is using a new formula that is calcium based, which I've hear is WAY more corrosive than the...

Megs MF system: had great results in the fall, want to spruce it up post-winter

Last fall I completed my first paint correction (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/showthread.php?t=42663) with the Meguiars Microfiber DA system. Thanks to this forum and it's members, I was very happy with the results. Unfortunately a few months of salty, crappy Ontario winter conditions...

My first DIY correction - My 2006 Caddy CTS-V

I have read about RIDS. My question about re-compounding was because the defects I'm referring to weren't there after the Finishing Wax step of the MF system, but did appear after my 845 application. Now, there's a chance the defects WERE there earlier and I just didn't see them, but I'm...

Is there a way to fix the 'suede' on my seat?

Thanks for the link! Looks like some 2000 grit sand paper is all it'll take. I think using a DA is a bit of overkill, since those guys just hand-sanded. I'd be worried about going overboard with a machine - DA or otherwise.
