    Outdoor Detailing

Yes it's the Mini which came off the assembly line April 16th. BMW gave me a gift with their final detail of minor swirls. I've used a couple of coats of Pinnacle Souveran but I want to get a sealant on before the winter. A tent is a limited option...you haven't seen my wife pull into the...

    Outdoor Detailing

What’s the best way to detail an auto outdoors? Is this possible? The problem is sun & dew. I want to use a swirl remover, finishing polish, sealant and then a wax. Vehicle doesn’t need to be clayed. Sun is there as of 9:00 AM and by the time I get to the sealant (12 hour cure time) I have to...

    Backing plates?

That all makes sense BobbyG. Like I said, I've never used a buffer before and I was relying on auto geeks mix and match. Dewalt (Porter Cable) says to use 5" with 5" and was pushing the Dewalt 7" buffer to cover more area but it's also an extra 75 to 100 bucks. I would think for a beginner the...

    Backing plates?

These are the the exact packages thru auto geek for the wolfgang kit and the pinnacle kit. Why do they offer them with 5" and 6.5 pads?

    Backing plates?

I'm looking at 2 different packages to purchase the porter cable. 1 comes with a 5" dual flex and the other a 5" hook & loop. They both come with 6.5 pads. Just was wondering which would be better for a beginner.

    Backing plates?

Which would be the safer and easier backing plate to use for someone who has never used a buffer before? Dual Action Flex or Hook & Loop?

I do know if I go with a sealant or blend I would have to prep (strip) but what's the advantage besides longer lasting protection be it with mirror glossy look (not preferred)? That's why it would only be a base. I still want to achieve the warm deep shine.

The wax is a few weeks old and in the past I would perform a few good washes with dishwash soap achieving a complete smooth surface with no imperfections throughout the entire auto. Then put new coat of wax. I've done this with all my vehicles. My Black 2000 Civic w/ 210000 miles (which I've...

I'm interested more in the technical (chemical) aspect of the different products (sealants/waxes/blends) and their advantages. I don't want to use a ton of different chemicals such as cleaners, preps and pre preps on a brand new car. P.S. All my applications are done by hand............

Thanks for the advice... I've read on more then 1 occasion that Wolfgang Sealant w/Fusion over it produces a dark look as apposed to Wolfgang Sealant w/SN Hybrid which gives a warmer deeper look. My biggest dilemma right now is should I go synthetic. If I do go synthetic as a base and then wax...

A bunch of Questions……Help !!!!!!!!! With all the different products and reviews out there, I’m baffled. I know it has to do with preference and in the past I’ve always used a good Carnauba base wax because I prefer the warm deep shine. With the technology these days I’m considering using a...
