Significantliy lighter? no. I put them both on a scale and the Flex was just under a pound lighter. That doesn't seem like much but since the Flex is more balanced from end to end, it feels lighter than it is. For me, I could care less about the weight. I have the Griots, the Porter Cable XP24...

I have the Griots and the Flex. To me the Flex is much better. Comfortable and lightweight. Yeah a little more money but well worth it.
