I used Lexol for years but I really like Optimum Protectant Plus now. In my mind it finishes better, slick but not slimy with a matte finish.

If you're not going to do anything else besides wash and wax, I'd look for a good all-in-one (AIO) which polishes and waxes or seals in one step. There are many choices out there. For something you can buy at Walmart or autozone look for meguiars or mothers that says "cleans and protects in one...

M205 is hard to find OTC, at least it is for me. UP is even milder I think, and can be found at Wally world for about $6.

I used Meg's ultimate polish on my new truck. Nice result.

Along the same lines, I've been using OTC Meg's QD and while it works well on dust and pollen, it doesn't quite take off residual water spot stains very well. Would a waterless wash give more cleaning ability without removing the wax coat? I used NXT 2.0 then OCW on top of that.

M40 has been a favorite for a long time but I've been using OPP lately. I started using OPP on my coated leather seats only, M40 on everything else. But OPP works pretty good on everything too...

Thanks! I'm leaning toward 303 for that very reason. I read somewhere that a paint roller is also a great way to apply it. What did you use to clean the top?

Thanks for the input so far. 303 makes a fabric top cleaner and a fabric protectant. I read on another forum that 303 lasted longer than RaggTopp -- any first hand experiences?

We have a garage queen 2005 VW Beetle 1.8T convertible that my wife takes out only when the weather is perfect. Anyway, I want to clean and protect the fabric top, so I'm wondering which system is best -- RaggTopp or 303? Thanks!
