    Ceramic coatings and bird bombs

Bird bombs are nasty and damaging if left alone too long. When I detailed back in California many moons ago now I can remember all of my coast customers get hit by the damn seagulls and it would etch the clear in 15 to 20 minutes. Not sure what those nasty critters ate but it was horrible! Bird...

Whats everyone using for headlight protection - before yellowing...

Hey buddy, thank you! Yes still detailing but now more supervising and training. It's still a thing I love to do but running my shop takes center for now. Thanks again, hope you've been well Anthony

I'm about done with ceramic coatings, not worth it , need suggestions

Nothing wrong with opinions. This is after all a very subjective area. One persons spotting will be determined a great deal by just what type of water is being used in their after care. So here in Texas, today it's 105. You go to get some lunch and lawn sprinklers go off at place you're eating...

I'm about done with ceramic coatings, not worth it , need suggestions

All coatings can get spotting, from light to heavy. Paint itself, even a substance as hard as glass will get hard water spots. As noted some paint sealants have a more sheeting effect than beading and that would be the best option if water spotting is an issue. Cure time is essential for...

Whats everyone using for headlight protection - before yellowing...

As already noted, PPF is your best choice. waxes, sealants and coatings will all still chip and will not prevent the fine road particles to sand blast your lights.

    Vapor Chief STEAM CLEANER!!

We are good bud, very slow but enough work to get us through a week. Next week? who knows with all this madness. My bad, I had stupid fingers when I typed...I meant that we went back with a Therma-Kleen unit. Apologies for confusion. Take care, Anthony

    Vapor Chief STEAM CLEANER!!

I can't even remember the model name as I believe we tossed it in trash. The issues we had were no controls at nozzle, it would not run on filtered water and after about 6 months it leaked, loss of pressure. I went back to a Vapor Chief steamer. More money but we have had 2 of them now 6 years...

opinions on 2 potential logos for my business?

Re: opinions on 3 potential logos for my business? Not to be rude but start over. Get rid of the bottle logo and name. Just "Radiance" would be better..."Radiance Detailing" or along those lines. The shift now is keeping things minimalist and clean Anthony

Ceramic Coatings and the Misinformation of the Masses

As a pro installer of coatings I always tell our clients...."paint coatings main benefit is in the ease of cleaning and drying" I also tell them, "It's not a bullet proof barrier. If you park your car out in the Texas sun and sprinklers go off next to it, the water will etch your paint. Nothing...

Is Anyone Else Tired of All the Ceramic Pile-Ons?

These paint coatings will be here for as long as cars are painted. They have their place just as wax and polymer sealants do and while yes it's a fad at the moment it will slow down but it won't die out until cars are no longer painted and come base primer and you pick your color vinyl to wrap...

    Window cleaning question

The grab comes from material choice. I never use a glass cleaner, other than denatured alcohol mixed down with water if I need to cut glass. Water is all I use, maybe a watered down ONR solution....but if you use a towel with a low nap, like a microfiber glass towel then that's my wet towel...

    Help: Rotary Buffer Use

Wow! I have been going thru the forum and reading up on stuff and came across this old thread as I like to look up old stuff and analyze what I sad back then, be it a year or so or 12 years ago as products, tools and materials we as detailers work with and on have changed. From my post in this...

    That was fast...

My banning took place long before Autogeek took over Autopia, when David ran it. My numerous bans though go across many forums...it's ok though cause I am a very mean and ugly person:bash: It's all good Mike, be safe in this storm and I pray ya'll ride safely through it.

    That was fast...

Umm, ya...I've been banned!:laughing: OK, maybe not but I can't log in over there for some reason. In fact I may hold the record, time wise for being banned, then unbanned and re-banned in 60 seconds!

    That was fast...

So, I take it that this is ONLY about products one buys at Autogeek and not about auto detailing products in general? If so I understand, after all it's owned and operated by Autogeek. It may be beneficial to have an area for products in general to post up about in case it works well and...

    paint film install gone wrong

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Make sure this shop is SunTek certified first and foremost. If not you have no warranty. Many shops, bad shops, claim they use and install "X" brand film when they install cheap crap. For example I knew a tinter who stated he used "3M" films but he only pulled...
