Darn impressed with Pinnacle Signature Series II

Meghan - Thanks, it certainly is! I was trying to decide between Souveran, Max DP and a few others and settled on the SSII due to the outstanding value others had mentioned in their reviews of this product. I was not just satisfied with the performance, but surprised and delighted. Finemess...

Darn impressed with Pinnacle Signature Series II

This spring I did a thorough clean-up of my new-to-me 2006 Mazda MX-5. It was early May of 2013. I did a complete decon with IronX and clay a light polish and then waxed with Pinnacle SS II. I was very impressed with the easy on, easy off and gorgeous shine on metallic green paint. Got...

Harbor Freight DA Polisher - New

I second that - Meg's Ultimate compound is the only one I've used, but worked great, and was pretty dang easy to use my very first time. Just picked up Ultimate polish to finish up a few spots that my technique left a little hazy from the UC/yellow LC combo I used.

Why is Opti-Seal not more popular?

I haven't ever used the Optimum OS, but I just used WGDGPS for the first time, and I was pretty much ecstatic with how easy it was to use and how unbelievably slick the car is now. WOW At the same time, on my MX-5 I have SSII that I can enjoy applying and buffing out every few weeks. I...

Need help! First timer placing order

Looks like a pretty decent list! Couple additions I would make: -5" LC backing plate depending on which polisher you get- Can't use a 6" backing plate with 5.5" pads. -I would second going with the GG polisher, but I haven't used a PC - just based on the recommendations here I went with the...

Why I will never pay more than $20 for a wax!

WOW. :dblthumb2: to you then bud! I wouldn't pull out sand paper on the Jeep (if I still had it) even knowing what I know now! Let alone a Rover! You really did a killer job on it though, congrats on that! I'm curious did you use a paint meter or were you flying blind? I think a paint...

Need help! First timer placing order

Venom, I was just in your shoes a few weeks ago and hard a darn hard time figuring out how many pads I would need. I ended up pretty much going whole hog in order to make sure I had enough for what I wanted to get done. And I just managed that... I ordered all 5.5" LC Flat pads: 3x Yellow 2x...

Why I will never pay more than $20 for a wax!

The thing I notice about this paint also...no orange peel. Nice paint + good prep + good wax = Nice shine + good reflections. I had a black Jeep Liberty diesel that had awful, terrible, bad orange peel from the factory and it never would create nice clean reflections. Nice job Goodloe3...

    Business has picked up ALOT

Tory- Looks like you have a good start so far, and lots of great advice given by other folks so far. When I looked at your site I am looking at is a customer would look at it - try to put yourself in their shoes. Here were some of my thoughts: -I agree with earlier posters that pics &...

Confused as to whether or not the Harbor Freight DA Polisher is worth it..

Why are our cars so SHINY honey? :buffing: My wife thinks having the house look nice is important, but cant understand why having the car look nice is important. Oh well!

Confused as to whether or not the Harbor Freight DA Polisher is worth it..

Ali-forgot to mention that I went and bought the Lake Country 5" backing plate on here since others had mentioned the HF 6" backing plate wasn't the best. This was fine anyway because I wanted to run 5.5" pads. As they said my HF backing plate was a bit wobbly on rotation, the Lake Country...

Confused as to whether or not the Harbor Freight DA Polisher is worth it..

Just bought a HF DA polisher and used it to polish out my Miata. Works great! Got a great deal on it too. Used the 20% off coupon so it was $48+ tax. I'm just a hobbyist though probably end up doing friends and families cars...I will know how it works better in a year, but for for my level...

    How to start my detail?

The example that springs to mind here is Meguiars New Car Glaze because it contains some oils. Not really meant to be "sealed" I believe.

    How to start my detail?

I'm planning on using z-pc to take out some light defects. Would I need to worry about using ipa for that product? I'm planning on using meguiars Ultimate Compound on my wife's black accord, and read that you should use ipa with Meg's UC because it contains oils. True?

    How to start my detail?

Awesome! I knew you guys would have an answer! And they sound sensible to me too, which is always good. SYMAWD- I don't have an APC, but I did read some folks mix in dawn with regular car wash soap to give it a bit more bite, so I could do that. Dimetera413 -Thanks for the input, I'm...
