    Polishing Paint Protection Film

Thanks! Hot water test was a no go, I will see what I can do with a light polish. Can always remove the PPF before my final detail as I plan on a coating, likely a CQuartz product, but will test the polish on that portion before undertaking the whole thing.

    Polishing Paint Protection Film

Hey, I recently acquired a car that has a full PPF wrap on the bumper, hood and fenders. I believe this was installed when the car was brand new (2017) and from as best as I can tell the paint itself under the film is in good shape. The film however has a few swirl marks in it, nothing major...

    Jeep Soft Top Care

I recently purchased my wife a 2014 Wrangler Unlimited. I have sourced out and researched products for cleaning/protecting the black vinyl soft top. I am curious about what should be used on the plastic windows. I am hesitant to use Invisible Glass on it, worried about it damaging them...

5 1/2" pads with stock backing plate?

Thanks for the responses everyone, I think I will go ahead and get the 4 3/8 to be safe. I am getting this in addition to my PC7424 - I really like that tool, but want to step up and try the Flex out. It seems to be a great tool and will hopefully cut down on time needed to complete a full car.

5 1/2" pads with stock backing plate?

I presently have a roster of 5 1/2" LC flat pads which I really like, with they work with the stock backing plate, or should I also get the 4 3/8" to make sure it fits properly. I can't seem to find a clear answer on this. Thanks!

    Observations post CQUK

Well, second test on my wifes Fiat that also has CQUK on it. I used some DP Foam I got as a sample. I used half the bottle, so about 2 ounces I am thinking. The foam was good and stuck well. Not sure if it was the soap used, CG Mr. Pink vs DP Foam - or just the amount used. I definitely...

    Observations post CQUK

I did my first wash today after doing my CQUK coating and made the following observations. My foam cannon is not as useful it once was, it would seem. The foam doesn't stick, as I expected, but it really seems to not be as useful. It just falls off basically, no real dwell time. I am going...

    Thinking of CQ UK…help needed

I just did my car with CQUK. The prep was key and it looks great. Very easy to apply I found. Had no issues at all. Just took my time to make sure everything was buffed off and no high spots. Then the reload goes on, also an easy product to use.

    Opinion: WW or NR Wash

Went with a WW in the end. Really soaked it up, there wasn't any 'dirt' just dust that had settled over night. After that I wiped everything with Eraser and then put on the CQUK. Just finished up about 20 minutes ago. Just need to apply the Reload and I am all done. The car looks insane.

    2 Step Time

Yeah it was is pretty good shape, nothing major, just a few swirls from the dealer. I would say I got it about 90-95%. Didn't want to hunt perfection on it, I will post some up after I get my CQUK on later today. Very happy with the results thus far.

    2 Step Time

    Yes sorry, my GTR.

    Opinion: WW or NR Wash

I completed a polishing stage on my car yesterday in preparation for CQUK today. I finished later than expected and it was dark. My garage doesn't have the best lighting and so I didn't want to start with the fear that I might not be able to see the product properly, and so I decided to wait...

    2 Step Time

Yesterday I completed a 2 step correction on my car. Not counting the wash, decontamination, claying, and taping time, it took me just over 6 hours to complete the car. I used PF2500 on a LC White (orange for a couple areas there were a bit rough) and SF4500 on a LC Blue. Did 4-5 passes on...

    Cloth for coating removal

I may settle on those. Holding out to find the ETA on these ones right now. CarPro Suede Microfiber Cloths, suede microfibre cloths, microfiber towels, cquartz microfiber

    Cloth for coating removal

Yes, the shipping is twice the amount if the cloths. Was hoping to source in Canada, not working out. Might have to just suck it up. No point spending the time to do a coating properly to ruin it at the last second with the wrong cloth.

    Establishing a solid customer base

My neighbourhood is this way. Everyone has nice cars but no ones cares for them in a detailing kind if way. Sometimes I cringe when I see them washing their cars. Just the other day a guy was taking a hard bristled broom to his AMG, I couldn't believe it. They must look at me like I am a...

    Cloth for coating removal

For the high spots. So I have plenty of the smaller 4x4 ones that go around the applicator. You apply, allow to work in until it appears dry/level then wipe off with the larger towel.

    Cloth for coating removal

Well I recently did my first coating on my wife's Fiat. Used CQUK, worked out really well. However, it only came with one wipe suede cloth. I have about 3/4 it more of my 50ml bottle left and am going to to my other car in a bit. But..... No cloth. I tried to clean it but it did not come...

    Tape

I really like this as well. Trying to find a store that has this locally. Real annoying always having to order it. But, is worth it IMO.

Caught in the rain - What to do?

Once the move is over it is getting a full treatment. Polish and coatings. Going with CQUK, DKUX and Flyby30. Just got everything on the mail for the prep and maintenance side of things. Hoping to do it all this coming weekend
