    New/Old Project Truck 2000 Silverado

Will be a game changer when they are allowed in the US. NHTSA hasn’t allowed them yet, worried something so technological might fail…and they have a point but I’m sure some redundancy or fall back lights could be built into the technology.

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I think Tornador does something similar but with compressed air. But if you have a massager, you wouldn’t need to buy a Tornador, but what fun would that be.

I like the PXE more than the Nano and is more flexible. But the Nano can get places the PXE can’t so it depends on if you need something specific or more general. No experience with the new HLR.

About time. :) The CBeast is my favorite polisher followed by the PiXiE 80.

Sorry Coatings. More of a joke and apparently a bad one as is not uncommon with me. I think we align fairly closely on politics and I’m halfway across the country. Americans come in all shapes, sizes, and beliefs, which is a strength in my opinion. Now back to detailing. Sorry for taking us...

I thought you could tell from his politics? Lol! I used to work for a major technology company up that way. Seattle is a nice city to visit except for when they drive the speed limit across all 4 lanes on the highway…annoying as hell.

    DFB's Garage

Muffler is on the other side so it’s not heat. Could it be spilt gas? Only thing I can think of since gas fill is on that side. I’m assuming that whole plastic piece is a gas tank though if only part of it was for gas, that would explain it.

    Flex XCE 8-125 18?

Yes, that is the CBeast and my most used polisher. It comes with a 6” pad. Plenty of power. I like and use the Rupes pads, wool and foam, as well as the B&S Uro-Tec pads. My most used pads are the Rupes wool and then sometimes finish with the yellow or white foam pads from Rupes, Uro-Tec, or...

Looking for an All In One Polish, Help me Choose

Those aren’t too aggressive but if you don’t need any correction ability and you’re just looking for max gloss and to clean the paint, one I’ve used in the past is P21S Gloss Enhancing Paintwork Cleanser. That is a very fine polish with minimal correcting ability but high gloss. CarPro Essence...

How many polishing pads per car?

I think it needs pointing out that there are potentially TWO related definitions worth noting, which Paul A mentioned in his last reply. All-In-One(AIO) - A polish that can correct paint and leave protection. One-Step - A polish that can handle paint corrections by itself, meaning polish out...

I think he’s hungry and he’s contemplating which appendage he bites first if you don’t feed him soon. :)

More like fresh from the showroom. Naw, the showroom cars don’t even look as nice as yours.

How many polishing pads per car?

It also depends on the type of pads. My favorite pads now are the Rupes blue (coarse) and yellow (fine/med) wool and you can blow them out effectively with an air nozzle connected to an air compressor. With that I might need only a couple to do an entire car. The heavy lifting is done with my...

I’ve got my eye on some Kamikaze Window Coat but I’ll wait until the temps warm up until pulling the trigger so the product doesn’t freeze in transit. Best glass coating I’ve used by a long shot though GTechniq G1 is decent.

Repairing scratch - Is clearcoat sufficient? (Fingernail does not catch)

Didn’t see your pictures but you could use some paint or clear to build up a bit and then polish flat. However, be very careful on a bumper as the plasticizers added to the paint for covering plastic make the paint thin and susceptible to heat damage. So work carefully with any polishing you do...
