So I am correct? From a 120v, 15amp power source, you cannot get above about 2.4HP. The rest is all marketing except for peak, whatever that mean.

What about medical rags? edit: I think they are called surgical towels :).

I read that somewhere. The math works out if it's true (I think). I ask because I saw a lot of talk about getting a 5hp+ vac. But if you can only get 2.x HP, why worry about it? Just get a 2hp vac. Hoping for thoughts? Is it all just marketing on the HP?

Oh. I see, but isn't this the coat the gets the bugs, droppings, protects from UV and all that? Seems like it would be tougher than that. Strange how things really work. I never thought detailing was, so, well, detailed. :)

When you guys talk about scratching paint with microfiber, does that mean the clear coat as well? edit: for that matter, how in the heck does cloth scratch something?

Dumb question. If you scratch the paint on a car, light to medium scratch, why does buffing it with a compound get rid of it? It's still cut into the paint. I know it works but I don't understand it. Another one I saw was someone using fine grade sandpaper, wet. Now how come that doesn't...

How can you scratch glass with microfiber? You mean a "real" scratch as in you'd have to replace the windshield to get rid of it?

I know you said buffing glass, but could you use them to clean them? Will it hurt the glass? Whenever you guys talk about scratching paint, etc. I have an image of a damaged vehicle, maybe even someone getting sued!
